Regional Sales Manager - South Central

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Regional Sales Manager directs the activities of the regional sales organization including account relations, new product introductions, reparation of forecasts, over all supervision of the planning for maximum plumbing market share penetration within the regional multi-state boundaries.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Complete understanding of market, not only as it related to Reliance Worldwide accounts, but competitors and other influences as well.
  • Establishing objectives in terms of profits, volume, market penetration, and identify areas of development.
  • Coordinate, develop, review and approve annual forecasts, budgets and targets.
  • Maintain direct personal contact with Reliance Worldwide accounts, call mix as directed.
  • Assist in selecting and approving new accounts. Work with sales agencies and new customers to assure proper development.
  • Approve, orient, and develop new customers.
  • Develop sales promotions within region to grow sales and product mix.
  • Provide liaison between accounts and Reliance Worldwide on matters of mutual concern. Make field trips, if necessary, to assist with resolution on procedural, sales, service or payable issues.
  • Assures regions, marketing division, and group personnel, to authorize and/or recommend settlement of complaints or inquiries on a timely basis to provide complete customer and/or consumer satisfaction.
  • Conduct regional planning meetings.
  • Administer the region by:
    • Developing annual & capital budgets
    • Assure efficient use of regional funds
    • Maintain contact with the market
    • Analyze sales, approve expenditures, and budget items
    • Coordinate and report on market research requests
  • Authorize and/or approve competitive discounts and or other requirements consistent with field competitive conditions along with company policy and profit margins.
  • Responsible for communication to all RWC departments on field information pertaining to market shifts and new products.
  • Attend industry functions wherein Reliance Worldwide obtains benefits by becoming involved in the industry.
  • Speak before industry groups.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree

Experience:

  • 5-15 years sales and/or management experience
  • Experience in managing sales agencies

Competencies:

  • Excellent negotiation and relationship building skills,
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products,
  • Excellent written and verbal skills,
  • Excellent organizational skills,
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • This position will be primarily in the field with distributors, sales outlets, contractors and other locations.
  • Employee will be based in the South Central Territory, preferably near a major airport in Texas
  • Extensive travel - 75%.
