Position Summary

The Controller is responsible for overseeing the financial operations and timely financial reporting for AMIkids and Programs, guides financial decisions in accordance with regulation and best practices. ensure external reporting and/or filing deadlines are met, and adherence to Federal and State regulatory and compliance requirements.

Essential Job Duties



  • Oversee accounting functions for accurate/ timely dissemination of financial management reports, internal and external financial statements and annual audits,
  • Lead accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll areas for AMIkids,

    • Develop, implement, and update applicable policies/procedures and practices; ensure compliance through communicating, training, monitoring, and partnering with the Internal Audit Department,


  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of accounts payable, purchase orders, petty cash, expense reports, cash control, payroll processing and payroll tax compliance,
  • Manage cash flow, including forecasting cash flow needs in advance and alerting the CFO to cash flow deficiencies,
  • Own and coordinate external audit activities and provide needed information, Manager, and coordinate banking for AMIkids and Programs,
  • Protect assets through establishment, monitoring, and enforcement of internal controls,
  • Monitor and ensure accurate and timely management of accounts receivable;
  • Review monthly financial statements for AMIkids and Programs,
  • Prepare quarterly consolidated financial statements,
  • Prepare quarterly detailed analysis of AMIkids financial statement,
  • Submit filings to governmental agencies timely and accurately,
  • Monitor Team Member performance and provide guidance and development,
  • Establish and monitor systems and control verifying the integrity of all systems, processes, and data,
  • Assist in contract negotiations for AMIkids and Programs,
  • May travel or drive for work related purposes,
  • Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned.


Minimum Education, Training, and Experience



  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Masters preferred,
  • Certified Public Accountant,
  • Five years' experience in managing the financial operations of an organization,
  • Experience in non-for-profit accounting preferred,
  • Knowledge of mainstream accounting and payroll software; Sage Intacct and UKG are a plus,
  • Advanced Microsoft Office Suite experience,
  • Effective Communication skills (written/verbal).
