What You'll Do:
The Senior Tax Accountant will play a central role in the Triton's tax compliance, provision, and forecasting processes. Key responsibilities entail preparation of US Federal and State Tax forecasts and provisions, including identifying and implementing process improvements to the tax team's current processes. This individual will also assist the tax team with research and forecasting related to global tax planning initiatives, and the Tax Manager in analyzing and reconciling tax depreciation reports for Triton's $10+ billion container fleet.
* Prepare the monthly, quarterly, and annual tax provisions.
* Prepare forecasts of effective tax rate and cash taxes.
* Review and reconcile federal and E&P tax depreciation reports for Triton's container fleet.
* Assist in research and modelling of OECD Pillar 2 tax planning.
* Oversee coordination with 3rd parties of foreign tax returns and transfer pricing documentation.
* Research tax positions and prepare technical tax and accounting memos to support tax and accounting positions for transactions.
* Provide support for internal and external audits. Ensure all transactions are in compliance with SOX internal controls.
* Identify and implement improvements and efficiencies to tax provision, compliance, and forecasting processes.
* Assist in preparation of preparation of federal and state income tax compliance and transfer pricing workpapers.
* Work on ad hoc projects as needed.
What We're Looking For:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; Master's degree in Tax a plus
- 3+ years of verifiable work experience in public accounting or corporate accounting in a tax role required
- Experience in writing tax technical memos and related research required
- Experience with federal and state tax provisions and compliance related to partnerships, US corporate consolidated groups, and US international tax structures
- Strong core understanding of GAAP accounting and financial reporting,
- Eagerness to identify and implement improvements and efficiencies to tax provision and compliance processes
- Understanding of US sourcing and effectively connected income rules
- Understanding of US tax depreciation rules for tangible property
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office - Strong Excel a must!
- Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 a plus.
- Ability to take ownership and show support for work related initiatives
- Strong interpersonal skills - must be comfortable working within a team environment
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Flexibility to work additional hours during peak periods required
- Must be at a commutable distance (within 50 miles) to the Purchase, NY office
