Responsibilities

Peraton is hiring a Mid-Level Development Support Systems Engineer to join our Cyber Mission business unit in Annapolis Junction, MD. As a Systems Engineer (SE) on our team, you will support one of the largest enterprise-wide engineering contracts within the Intelligence Community. This is a full-time position requiring 1880 hours of support per year; and work is performed at a customer location. As a Mid-Level Development Support Systems Engineer on our team, you will support a customer Program Management Office (PMO) overseeing a large multi-organizational agile software development project. You will provide General Systems engineering support including requirements definition, documentation, and integration support in the oversight of this ongoing development effort as well as providing support to the testing team validating the development work. You may provide support as Product Owner to help oversee the scrum and development team. The Product Owner acts as a focal point for production and a communication bridge between organizational teams and customers. As an integral part of Agile process, the Product Owner has strong communication skills, working closely with customers to define and understand requirements for products, with the teams to communicate those requirements and establish targets and goals, and with leadership to maintain prioritization of those products within organizational strategic goals. The product owner takes ownership of the entire product, from a customer perspective, but also from a team perspective, working as a single unifying voice to deliver the desired product. Product owner responsibilities include:

    Communicating with customers to define and understand requirements, convey accurate and realistic timelines and status updates to manage expectations, and ensure customer satisfaction throughout
  • Prioritizing production in line with organizational strategic goals
  • Communicating with the scrum master and team members product requirements and priorities, define realistic timelines and expectations, and understand the process and roadblocks that may occur to more accurately communicate with customers.


Qualifications

Individual Capabilities/Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in a qualified engineering field or a related discipline from an accredited college or university with a minimum of 10 years of general systems engineering experience, a Master's degree or PhD in a qualified engineering field or a related discipline from an accredited college or university with a minimum of 8 years of general systems engineering experience, or a high school diploma or GED with a minimum of 14 years of general systems engineering experience.
  • Experience coordinating development projects.
  • Analysis of design and implementation alternatives, tradeoffs, and recommendations.
  • Analysis of functional, system, and non-functional requirements, data flows, and dependencies
  • Architecture experience (DoDAF).
  • Defining, developing, and documenting operational support concepts leading to development and implementation of requirements, specifications, and design plans.
  • Prior experience as a Product Owner on an agile/scrum team
  • Ability to analyze and think quickly and to resolve conflict
  • Knowledgeable in techniques to fill in gaps in the scrum
  • Ability to determine what is scrum and what is not
  • Experience with successful Agile techniques
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and mentoring skills
  • Position requires TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph that is less than 10 years old.

Target Salary Range

$135,000 - $216,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
