Overview of Position:

Perform necessary inspection procedures to insure parts meet all required specifications and standards. Prepare and close out parts for shipping (oil the parts, wrap in plastic, etc.). Prepare required paperwork for parts shipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:




  1. Become an FAA Certified Repairman, as needed.
  2. Learn the Pentagon parts sorting / logging program
  3. Learn to use power hand tools to work on parts
  4. Sandblast parts with glass bead for cleaning
  5. Use chemical cleaners like MEK, mineral spirits and alcohol
  6. Learn to accurately use micro measuring tools like micrometers, c-micrometers and bore gauges
  7. Perform necessary inspection procedures to insure that outgoing parts meet all required specifications and standards.
  8. Prepare and close out parts for shipping (oil the parts, wrap in plastic, etc.).




  1. Prepare required paperwork for parts shipment.
  2. Use protective equipment and appropriate work shoes as required.
  3. Have knowledge of and understanding of Appendix A. Safety Procedures.
  4. Have knowledge of and understand the AS9110 Quality Policy.
  5. Have knowledge of and understand the Control of Non-conforming product.
  6. Have knowledge of and understand the AS9110 Procedures that apply to these specific job(s).
  7. Keep your work area clean and orderly.
  8. Follow company rules and comply with the company dress code.
  9. Obey your team leader's work related instructions.
  10. Assist other Inspectors as needed.
  11. All other duties as assigned.


Skills, Knowledge and Experience:



  1. Must have H. S. Diploma or GED.
  2. Must be capable of reading blueprints.
  3. Must speak, read and write the English language.
  4. Must become an FAA Certified Repairman, if applicable.
  5. Should have basic computer software and keyboarding skills.
  6. Should have intermediate mathematical skills (Concepts and calculations involving decimals, percentages, fractions)
  7. Prior knowledge of AS9110 Quality Policy and Procedures.



Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format

Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representatives of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job depending on job assignment.



  1. Is occasionally required to sit, stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl; and lift up to 80 pounds. Is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and work in moderate levels of noise.
  2. Has clear vision at 20 inches or less.
  3. Able to pass a physical exam, Pulmonary Function Test (PFT), Fit Test, and to wear a respirator.



Required Training:



  1. New Employee Orientation (Checklist)
  2. Drug & Alcohol Awareness Training
  3. New Employee Safety Training (Checklist)
  4. Specified training for Probationary Employees (OJT)
  5. Learn inspection procedures that pertain to their specific job.( see ACI training software for complete inspection procedures (Training outline HR003 and or training plan for specific details) Also see OJT training form TR002)
  6. See ACI 4.6 and 4.9 for specific procedures also HR003 or training plan for more details. Also see OJT form TR002.
  7. Have knowledge and understanding of the AS9110 Quality Policy.
  8. Have knowledge and understanding of the Control of Non-conforming product.
  9. Have knowledge and understanding of theAS9110 Procedures that apply to your specific area(s).
  10. Have knowledge and understanding of the Domestic repair station and quality manual.(DRSQM)
  11. Have knowledge of and understand the Control of Non-conforming product.
  12. Have knowledge and understanding of SFAR/88 Related operating rules
  13. Have knowledge and understanding of Suspected Unapproved Parts
  14. Have knowledge and understanding of all safety procedures applicable to the job or jobs being performed.
  15. Have an understanding of how to look up SDS on any chemical they may come in contact with.
  16. The Calibrations Inspector must learn all aspects of calibration (OJT)
  17. At least one inspector must become a licensed forklift operator
