Position Highlights:

  • Position: RN - Surgical Operations Specialist
  • Location: Glenbrook Hospital, Glenview, IL
  • Full Time/Part Time: FT 40hrs/week
  • Hours: Monday-Friday, Days
  • Required Travel: Potential float to other sites. Cross-train CVI
  • Hourly Pay Range: $42.97-$67.72. The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

A Brief Overview:
As the RN Surgical Operations Specialist, you will play a vital role in optimizing the efficiency and quality of our surgical operations. You will work collaboratively with surgical teams, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care and adherence to best practices in surgical services.

What you will do:

  • Coordinating and facilitating the scheduling of surgical cases, ensuring efficient utilization of operating rooms and resources.
  • Collaborating with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nursing staff to ensure appropriate case preparation.
  • Conducting preoperative assessments of patients, including medical history review and assessment of surgical readiness.
  • Communicating with patients and families to address questions and concerns related to surgical procedures.
  • Overseeing the availability and readiness of surgical supplies, instruments, and equipment.
  • Collaborate with the materials management team to ensure timely restocking and maintenance.
  • Acting as an advocate for patients, ensuring their needs and preferences are considered throughout the surgical process.
  • Addressing patient concerns and provide emotional support as needed.
  • Assisting in quality assurance initiatives, including monitoring and reporting on surgical outcomes and infection control measures.
  • Promoting compliance with surgical safety protocols and best practices.
  • Maintaining accurate and complete electronic health records (EHR) related to surgical procedures and patient care.
  • Preparing and submitting reports as required by hospital policies and regulatory agencies.

What you will need:

  • License:Current professional Nursing Licensure in the State of IL required
  • Education:BSN degree preferred
  • Certification:BLS/CPR certification for the Healthcare Provider required. CNOR Preferred
  • Experience:2 years In surgical nursing with experience in surgical coordination or perioperative nursing required.
