Gas Scheduler - Hybrid Work Available

The Gas Scheduler will be responsible for scheduling, tracking, and reporting the flow of natural gas from our upstream suppliers to our downstream customers. A successful candidate will aid in ongoing, organizational process improvement efforts and contribute to the increased effectiveness of their business unit.

Responsibilities

Scheduling

  • Provide analytical support to drive successful decision making
    • Trend recognition
    • Consumption forecasting
    • Least cost analysis and operational risk identification
  • Accurately submit nominations
  • Monitor flow and identify flow restrictions, communicate and take corrective action as necessary
  • Maintain meticulous record maintenance in our ETRM and other data repositories
  • Support internal and external stakeholders with relevant data as requested
  • Facilitate daily communication with suppliers, customers, utilities, and pipelines to verify purchases, sales, and disruptions
  • Deliver financial settlement support, including shadow settling of invoices received from suppliers, utilities, and pipelines
  • Be available for after hours on-call duty as needed
  • Develop a working comprehension of facility contracts and tariffs

Position Requirements

Formal Education & Certification

  • Bachelor's degree in business, S.T.E.M., or equivalent industry experience

Knowledge & Experience

  • Previous experience in the natural gas industry is highly preferred
  • Previous experience where critical thinking skills were required

  • Excellent analytical skills, ability to quickly understand, isolate and resolve issues
  • Self-directed, requiring little direct supervision or assistance
  • Excellent time management skills, ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Detail oriented
  • Willing to contribute to the success of other business units
  • Effective communicator who is candid and willing to receive/provide constructive feedback
  • A growth minded individual seeking to challenge themselves and flourish with the business
  • High level of proficiency in MS Excel is required

Work Environment

  • Hybrid work environment, 3 days a week in office once training is completed
  • Routine after-hours on-call support
  • Sitting for extended periods of time
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse and other computer components
