John Zink is hiring for a Field Service Technician in the Fired Equipment Group supporting the refining and petrochemical industries!

Our Team

John Zink Company, a KOCH ENGINEERED SOLUTIONS (KES) company, serves customers with innovative, engineered-to-order solutions. Our equipment group business supplies components for applications in various markets with a focus on the refining and petrochemical Industry. Our Technical Services business supports this equipment with knowledgeable Field Service Specialists, who perform commissioning, tuning, troubleshooting and maintenance services for our customers worldwide.

What You Will Do
* The successful candidate for this role will be responsible for installation supervision, troubleshooting, combustion tunning and maintenance recommendations to our customers.
* They will develop operational and functional knowledge of register burners, duct burners or utility burners and must possess good mechanical aptitude with the ability to learn complex mechanical systems.
* The successful candidate will also communicate with PLC's, PLC logic, and HMI's using rudimentary knowledge of programming ladder logic and wiring skills.
* The technician will be expected to travel up to 90% on a regular basis to customer job sites.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
* Desire to work with register burners, duct burners or utility burners
* Experience working with PLC's and PLC programming
* Able to travel to job sites approximately 90% of the time
* A TWIC (Transportation Workers Identification Card) will have to be obtained within first six (6) weeks of employment
* Valid Drivers License
* Experience working in Instrumentation, Electrical or military equivalent

Physical requirements:
* Able to lift up to 50# on occasion and 50# routinely, able to bend, stoop, crawl and maneuver around skidded equipment and piping.
* Able to hear distinct sounds, visualize all colors of spectrum and visually see up close and at distance.
* This work is in an outdoor environment and long workdays on occasion.
* Be able to enter confined spaces and work at heights using ladders and other lifting devices.

What Will Put You Ahead
* 2-year Technical Degree from an accredited college or trade school in a mechanically-based technical major, OR 4 years of military service working with boilers
* Work experience with John Zink, Coen, TODD, Peabody brand of burners, duct burners, or utility burners.
* Experience working on Allen Bradley PLC's, in the combustion or steam generation industries.
* Field work experience in the petrochemical, power generation, industrial, pulp & paper or food processing industries.
* Residing within a 50- mile radius of a major airport.

This role is not eligible for employment visa sponsorship.

For this role, we anticipate paying $25 - $55 per hour. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form.
