Design Project Engineer I

We are looking for a dedicated Design Project Engineer I to join our talented team at our office located in Cary, North Carolina.

In this role, you will support the coordination of technical design disciplines, including civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, process, and process automation on pharmaceutical industry projects. You will also support the delivery of individual projects, focusing on quality objectives and coordinating resources to achieve project goals. You will also interact with clients on assigned projects and promote positive relationships.

Additional Responsibilities

• Develop a working knowledge of project scope and apply knowledge to project activities.
• Coordinate review and approval from the Project Executive and/or Director of Operations, and communicates this information to the project team.
• Help with the development and maintenance of written project scopes of work and communication of this information to the project team.
• Develop a thorough understanding of contractually required quality in design and construction and support quality assurance for the project.
• Monitor design content and quality and coordinate design revisions for constructability and compliance with basis documents, schedule, and budget.
• Assist with the procurement and coordination of all required project resources, including intradivisional, interdivisional, and extracorporate.
• Support the Project Manager in the preparation of subcontracts, purchase orders, change control documentation, and related financial documentation.
• Work with Document Control to ensure that all project documents are distributed, reviewed, and stored to meet project and corporate requirements.
• Support the Project Manager in ensuring compliance of project activities with legal and regulatory requirements.

• Degree qualified in appropriate management, engineering subject or equivalent years of experience in technical field.
• 1 year of engineering experience working for A/E firm.
• Construction or manufacturing experience will be considered if related to design.
• Expertise in computer operation for engineering design programs and computer-aided drafting.
• General knowledge of system design and applicable codes in specific discipline-related areas (Mechanical, Structural, Plumbing, Electrical, or Process).

Preferred Qualifications

• Fundamentals of Engineering (FE {formerly known as EIT}) exam completion or Registered Professional Engineer (PE).

Travel duration, if any, is based on project complexity and location. This position is a safety-sensitive position. The employee is designated for field work and attends activities at client sites where they work in construction, process, packaging, manufacturing, research or other "non-administrative" areas.
