Job Summary: The Controller is responsible for the accounting operations of the bank including the maintenance of a comprehensive system of accounting records, controls and policies designed to: enhance the accuracy and efficiency of the bank's reported financial results as well as to mitigate risk by ensuring compliance with (1) established controls over financial reporting, (2) Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and, (3) Regulatory reporting requirements. This position implements the long- and short-range Accounting Department goals as communicated by the Chief Financial Officer.

Duties and Responsibilities (including but not limited to):



  • Custodial and Governance: Accountable to the bank's accounting operations including ownership and maintenance of an internal control structure required to ensure the integrity and accuracy of the accounting systems. Oversee the monthly general ledger, direct the annual financial budgeting process
  • Reporting: Prepares quarterly regulatory reports including Call Report and required FR Y, implements reporting changes pursuant to GAAP and regulatory requirements. Prepares GAAP and FDCIA compliant financial statements and footnotes for annual consolidated financial statement audit and annual 401k financial statement audit
  • Compliance: Provides reporting for information requests from outside auditors and examinations. Acts as liaison to bank's CPA firm and oversees state and local sales tax and use tax and personal preparty tax reporting


Minimum Requirements:



  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
  • 5+ years accounting experience
  • Financial analysis or FPA experience
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to influence without authority
  • Advanced working knowledge of Excel
  • Accounting Software
  • Financial Analysis Software
  • Corporate Budgeting


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA)
  • Experience in a financial institution or banking
  • 1-3 years supervisory experience
  • Advanced analytical skills involving problems
  • Ability to research and interpret several sources of technical guidance
  • Establish facts, draw conclusions, offer realistic solutions, implement approved solution


Schedule: Monday - Friday: 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Workplace Environment:



  • Requires face-to-face interaction and coordination of work with other employees and departments, and in-person interaction.
  • Working at a computer and utilizing a telephone
  • Occasionally lifting up to 50lbs


Salary Range: $103,000 - $120,000 annually

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. The salary range represents anticipated base pay for this role. The actual pay offered will consider internal equity and may vary based on factors including but not limited to work location, candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other factors.
