Typical Hiring Rate: $25.00 per hour.

The Anoka Attorney's Office provides law clerks unique, hands-on experiences in the courtroom. Under the Certified Student Attorney rule you will make court appearances representing the State of Minnesota, County of Anoka. This is an interactive job, working side-by-side with experienced attorneys. Law Clerks are able to turn their academic learning to practical use. You will hone your attorney skills that are crucial to the practice of law. In this position, you will expand your, legal knowledge while performing meaningful and challenging work on a wide variety of cases. We are looking for law clerks to join the Criminal and Juvenile Division. The opening is immediate and extends through the summer. Law Clerks handle a variety of court hearings in District Court, appearing on bail calendars for the Criminal Division and on Detention, Delinquency, Juvenile Petty Offense, and Truancy calendars for the Juvenile Division. Law Clerks will have the opportunity to handle more complex matters as they gain skills and experience. Law Clerks in the Criminal and Juvenile Divisions perform duties like those of an entry level attorney, such as drafting Complaints and delinquency petitions, reviewing information submitted by law enforcement to determine what, if any, charges are appropriate, conduct legal research, and draft memoranda for attorneys.
