Womble Bond Dickinson (US) LLP, an Am Law 100 law firm with more than 850 US lawyers, is seeking a Financial Analyst. The successful candidate will have a strong analytical background and ability to leverage reporting tools and software at the most advanced levels to streamline and automate the dissemination of financial data. The successful candidate will also provide concise, intelligent, and thoughtful insights to firm leadership.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Preparing and distributing financial reports, ensuring reporting provides critical depth and strategic focus
  • Prepare actual vs. budget and current year vs. prior year analytical reports; review and manage the data integrity of all reporting sources
  • Profitability analysis of specific practice groups, business units, clients, matters, and timekeepers
  • Perform rate, revenue, expense, compensation, and other ad hoc analysis
  • Measure law firm KPIs, benchmark internally and externally, while fully understanding firm and industry metrics
  • Identify trends and recommend solutions to Firm Leadership related to profit improvement
  • Assist the pricing team on an ad hoc basis with historical data to support efforts with pricing and profit analysis for alternative fee arrangements


REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, mathematics, information systems, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in financial analyses role; law firm experience required
  • Strong systems knowledge and ability to work with financial models (BI software/tools, Aderant or similar accounting software)
  • Must be analytical, inquisitive, and motivated
  • Excellent communicator, both gregarious and intelligent. Must be able to hold his or her own while working with senior management.
COMPENSATION: $72,500 - $130,000 is the estimated national average for this role. Starting salary will be determined based on location, qualifications and experience.
