Job Summary and Responsibilities

Acentra Health is looking for a Senior Scientistto join our growing team.

This is a Hybrid Role that will require working onsite at our McLean, VA Office a few days per week

Job Summary:

The purpose of this position is to provide day-to-day operating data science discipline and
working oversight to all corporate-wide informatics objectives. This position will support the goals
and key results of Health Informatics and be a prime contributor to advancing the overall
enterprise Data Strategy, setting up investigative health operations research work, collecting and
analyzing customer data, and monitoring and deciding on data element transformations.
Ultimately, this role will be responsible for applying data science best practices to enable the
translation of the insights gained into service line based outcome improvements. Responsibilities
include providing and supporting analyses, decisions and recommendations for complex issues;
and providing scientific and technical knowledge in evaluating programs designed to measure the
success of cooperative projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Cooperative project design, assisting in the identification of areas worthy of study and in the
    calculation of appropriate power and proximate nature of the findings.
  • Assist staff, consultants and biostatisticians in conduction of investigative work, analyzing and
    reporting the results of case review and pattern analysis of claims data to serve the business
    needs of the customer. Assist in designing follow-up evaluation mechanisms to measure the
    success of cooperative projects on overall outcomes.
  • Design and produce (in writing) feedback reports and other publishable documents.
  • Review all literature to assist in designing interventions, feedback tools and data collection
    instruments.
  • Develop affiliations with health solutions researchers to enhance Acentra Health
    competitiveness for new RFPs/RFIs and its reputation as a contributor to the market overall.
  • Promote and maintain professional inter/intradepartmental relationships within Acentra Health
    as well as will all external customers.
  • Read, understand, and adhere to all corporate policies including policies related to HIPAA and its Privacy and Security Rules."

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in data science, Life Science, Epidemiology, Statistics or Health
    Services with research experience and/or significant experience will also be considere
  • 5 years' experience in data science related technology work.
  • Programming Skills in languages such as Python and R.
  • Broad experience in statistical analysis, machine learning concepts, and Data ETL programs.
  • Comfort with cloud-based analytics platforms (AWS).
  • PasteExperience with Health care data sets (preferred to have handled PHI)
  • Requires strong communication skills to include advance PowerPoint and Excel,
  • Must have quantitative, business and computer technical skills and data controls.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions and deliver
    high quality results in a given timeline.
  • Ability function compatibly with team members of diverse clinical and experiential
    backgrounds essential
  • Must be able to work onsite at our McLean, VA office a few days a week.
