The primary responsibility as a Procurement Manager, will be to oversee the procurement process, ensuring the efficient sourcing of materials, equipment, and services required for large-scale construction projects. You will collaborate with project managers, vendors, and stakeholders to optimize costs, maintain timelines, and ensure compliance with company standards and local regulations.



Responsibilities

    Procurement Planning and Strategy
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with project objectives and company goals.
  • Prepare procurement schedules and ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
  • Vendor Management
  • Identify, evaluate, and establish relationships with qualified vendors and subcontractors.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to achieve optimal value and service quality.
  • Monitor vendor performance and resolve any issues related to quality, delivery, or compliance.
  • Sourcing and Cost Management
  • Source construction materials, equipment, and services in accordance with project specifications and budgets.
  • Analyze market trends and pricing to identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Manage procurement budgets and ensure alignment with financial targets.
  • Compliance and Documentation
  • Ensure compliance with local laws, regulations, and company policies in procurement activities.
  • Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, including contracts, invoices, and delivery schedules.
  • Collaboration and Communication
  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, and site teams to understand project requirements.
  • Facilitate clear communication between vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure seamless operations.
  • Risk Management
  • Identify and mitigate risks in the procurement process, including supply chain disruptions and price fluctuations.
  • Develop contingency plans to address potential challenges.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in procurement, preferably in the construction industry.
  • Proven track record of managing procurement for large-scale projects.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and tools, as well as MS Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of local procurement regulations and market dynamics in the U.S. Virgin Islands is a plus.

  • Strong communication and organizational skills are necessary, along with an ability to be self-directed.


Working Conditions

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time; talk or hear; perform fine motor, hand and finger skills in the use of a keyboard, telephone, or writing. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; and reach with arms and/or hands. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. The employee will spend their time in an office environment with a quiet to moderate noise level. Job site walking.
