Babson College invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor of Ethnomusicology (Tenure Track) beginning August 2025. We seek an emerging interdisciplinary scholar with a strong background in teaching musics of the world and related subjects to undergraduates in an arts and humanities division at a business college. We are seeking an ethnomusicologist who can teach a Black American Music survey or Musics of the Black Atlantic; Musics of Latin America; a survey of Global Pop; and other courses matching the applicant's interests. All courses are for general education students with no expectation of prior musical training or knowledge. Teaching duties for this position may also involve a humanities course in our core curriculum. We seek candidates who will be able to forge teaching connections with other disciplines and departments on campus, and we are particularly interested in candidates committed to teaching a diverse student body.

Babson values faculty scholarship and research and supports these through a variety of internal funding opportunities.

Candidates should have a PhD in Ethnomusicology or Cultural Musicology with an appropriate subfield and should have their degree in hand before the position begins on September 1, 2025.

a cover letter; a curriculum vitae; and a description (2-3 pages) of a course or a course unit that would engage students from diverse backgrounds in an undergraduate environment.
