We are searching for a talented Radiation Therapist

Hours: 32 flex 40hrs

Shift: Day shift; 8:00am - 4:30pm

Location: Cancer Center - Fairhaven, MA

Responsibilities

Under the general supervision of the Chief Therapist or designee, perform a variety of duties to ensure safe and accurate radiation therapy treatment/simulations to patients. Duties include the preparation of treatment rooms for each patient and participation in the orientation and education of patients to treatment regime. Oversee department quality assurance activities including monitoring the daily machine and CT simulator. Effectively utilize problem solving and negotiation skills to manage conflict. Model appropriate behavior at all times to patients and staff at all levels.


Qualifications

  • An Associates Degree in an accredited Radiation Therapy program is required; Bachelors Degree preferred.
  • Good customer service skills are required as evidenced through strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience working in an EMR environment with MOSAIQ exposure is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to assume managerial responsibilities in the absence of the Chief Radiation Therapist and serve as a role model at all times is required.
  • Membership in professional organizations is recommended.
  • One (1) year of related work experience in radiation oncology is required.
  • New graduates with the completion of one (1) year clinical internship in a major cancer center with experience working with current linear accelerators, simulation and verification/record systems will be considered.
  • Certification and registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) with current licensure in the state of Massachusetts required.
  • New graduates must be registry eligible and licensed in Massachusetts.
  • BLS certification is required
  • Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID 19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying you are choosing to be exempt from vaccination once hired.

  • Compensation: Pay rate will be determined based on level of experience.
