http://accountability.uark.edu Summary of Job Duties:The Assistant Director for the Office of Student Accountability (OSA) reports to the Associate Director for Student Accountability and is responsible for providing and/or facilitating all outreach and education on behalf of the OSA. They will serve as a hearing officer, conduct minor investigations, facilitate alternative resolutions, and provide necessary conflict resolution support. Specifically, the Assistant Director provides administrative support and facilitation of the appellate process, offers proactive outreach for at-risk students to support retention and graduation, and creates and disseminates outreach and promotional materials to educate the campus on Student Conduct Policies and Procedures. The role also includes providing leadership and support for all educational programs, courses, sanctions, and services offered to students through or in partnership with the Office of Student Accountability. The Assistant Director will collaborate with campus partners on behalf of Student Accountability to support all sanctions and external resources frequently utilized to assist students who have gone through the Student Accountability process, and participate in various outreach and training opportunities, including presenting at New Student Orientation. Additionally, the Assistant Director serves as an administrative hearing officer when needed, assists with minor investigations, supports the OSA investigator during high case load periods, provides alternative dispute resolution and conflict resolution support for students, and supports the Office of Student Accountability with any other relevant duties as assigned. The role also involves supervising the one graduate assistant.

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A master's degree in Higher Education, Counseling, Psychology or a related field from an accredited institution of higher education

  • At least two years of professional experience working in a Higher Education setting directly with students

  • Experience working in or directly with a Student Conduct Process

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least three to five years of professional experience working in a Higher Education setting directly with students

  • Experience working directly with appeal processes or conduct boards within the Student Conduct Process

  • Experience serving as a hearing officer or conducting investigations in the student conduct process

Knowledge Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):

  • Excellent time management skills

  • Ability to synthesize complex or diverse information

  • Ability to use intuition and experience to complement available information

  • Ability to consistently demonstrate integrity and ethical behavior in all interactions with students, advisors, faculty, or staff

  • Ability to work well as a member of a team committed to the common goal of helping students experience personal growth and development through their participation in the student conduct process

  • Ability to demonstrate effective verbal and written communication; Communicates vertically and horizontally within the office; Listen to others to ensure understanding; Contribute meaningful information during meetings

  • Ability to work under pressure and still be able to maintain composure

  • Ability to collaborate with partners (students, faculty, staff, parents, and community) to provide high-impact programming, outreach, and training

  • Ability to create and present presentations for various outreach opportunities, including content applicable to students, faculty, and staff

  • Ability to represent OSA at various outreach events on campus, including New Student Orientation

  • Ability to assist with maintaining/updating the OSA website and other digital media support for the office

Additional Information:

This position is renewable annually based on continued need for the position, availability of funding, and satisfactory job performance.

Salary Information:

$51,021 (Commensurate with education and experience)
