Position Overview

MetroPlusHealth is seeking a Deputy Chief Information Officer (DCIO). This position will serve as a Senior IT manager and report directly to the CIO. The DCIO will work directly with all levels of IT staff.

This administrative and technical role is suited for a candidate with prior healthcare/health payer knowledge and experience. This individual needs to possess strong leadership and interpersonal skills, and be passionate about the wellbeing of our members, staff, and community. The successful candidate for this position will have to tackle muti-faceted problems requiring a creative mindset to find innovative solutions across the IT Department. They will also have to manage vendor relations, staffing, and the overall coordination of day-to-day operations as well as complex initiatives.

Our goal with the Deputy Chief Information Officer position is to improve the experience of our members, employees and coworkers, vendors, and neighbors throughout the City.

Job Description
  • Responsible for leading the successful implementation of the HealthEdge Platform, a key initiative to transform healthcare operations and modernize MetroPlusHealth's core business process.
  • Strategic planning, execution, and oversight of the HealthEdge implementation, including program governance, cross-departmental coordination, and collaboration with technology ad business teams.
  • Ensure alignment with organizational goals, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements, while promoting operational excellence and innovation.
  • Collaborate with members of the executive team to identify ways IT can assist the company in achieving business and financial goals
  • Identify new IT developments and technologies; anticipate resulting organizational modifications
  • In collaboration with the CIO, ensure that IT and network infrastructure adequately support the company's computing, data processing, and communications needs
  • Ensure compliance with government regulations that apply to systems operations.
  • Leverage healthcare knowledge/experience to support IT initiatives
  • Drive the continuous development and implementation of IT practices across MetroPlusHealth
  • Provide leadership to IT staff
  • Serve as an IT representative with MetroPlusHealth and the community
  • Manage day-to-day operations
  • Create and maintain relationships with external entities
  • Maintain the IT budget
  • Review and recommend changes to policies, procedures, and processes
  • Ensure IT initiatives are running according to schedule and budget
  • Plan and organize IT functions, delegating appropriate functions and responsibilities to IT staff or the appropriate Project Manager
  • Monitor that IT positions are staffed with capable staff who possess skills and training to perform their assigned duties
  • Communicate with internal and external project stakeholders
  • Ability to take on additional tasks as needed
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline; and
  • 10+ years in a senior IT leadership role; and
  • 2+ years of healthcare-related experience; or
  • An equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, and work experience
