Position Purpose:

Responsible for managing contract staff and administration of all contracts to ensure that contractual obligations are met and compliance is maintained with mandatory governmental regulations, applicable laws and corporate policies and procedures. Ensures effective relationships between the company and the customer contracting officers on all contractual matters in order to maintain consistency in communications, documentation, and minimizing cost risk due to misunderstanding and/or non-compliance. Participates with company management in the financial management of all contracts. Description

Location: This position is full-time (40-hours/week) Monday-Friday working ONSITE at our Nashville, TN location. You will work an 8-hour shift scheduled during our normal business hours of 8:00AM-5:00PM.

What You'll Do:

  • Leads the preparation and review of all business proposals to customers for growth of current contracts or award of new business.

  • Oversees the internal proposal processes to ensure that all federal government proposals and pricing are compliant with the Federal Acquisition Rules (FAR) and Cost Accounting Standards.

  • Leads contract administration staff in all contract activities to ensure that contractual obligations are met and compliance is maintained with mandatory governmental regulations, applicable laws and corporate policies and procedures.

  • Provides supervision of contract compliance, contract review, contract communication, contract performance, contract reporting and contract filing.

  • Responsible for ensuring efficient preparation, review, coordination and requests for approval of legal documents to include contracts, contract modifications, subcontracts and related modifications, non-disclosure agreements, teaming agreements and other legal documents.

  • Provides guidance to staff as may be needed in negotiation of contracts.

  • Works as the primary negotiator in more complex contracts and subcontracts negotiations.

  • Develops and maintains internal departmental processes in accordance with corporate policies, FAR requirements, and industry best practices.

  • Ensures all processes are documented in accordance with ISO standards and staff is trained to those processes.

  • Responsible for overall management of assigned business plans and related reporting.

  • Makes recommendations to management concerning policies and processes to further enhance reaching business goals.

  • Participates with company management in the financial management of all contracts.

To Qualify for This Position, You'll Need the Following:

  • Required Education: Bachelor's in a job related field.

  • Required Experience:

    • 9 years experience in contracts negotiation. Strong contracts management experience, including experience working with contract processes and principles.

    • 3 years management or supervisory experience or equivalent military experience in grade E4 or above (may be concurrent).

  • Required Software and tools: Microsoft Office

  • Required Skills and Abilities:

    • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work professionally with persons at all levels, and to maintain effective working relationships.

    • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing to all levels throughout the organization and externally.

    • Ability to handle sensitive matters on a confidential basis.

    • Strong presentation, interviewing, and organizational skills with a strong attention to detail.

    • Ability to exercise confidentiality and discretion.

    • Strong decision-making, organizational and leadership skills.

    • Excellent internal and external negotiation skills.

    • Specialized knowledge in negotiating and managing Government contracts and subcontracts.

    • Ability to recognize contractual issues and recommend solutions.

We Prefer That You Have the Following:

  • Government contracting experience is STRONGLY PREFERRED

  • Contract management certification is a plus
