Position Summary |
The person in this position is in charge of custodial care at the
UGA Marine Institute. They manage the cleaning department; help to clean Institute housing, labs, and other facilities; and work to ensure that visitors have clean and functional accommodations for their stay. They also provide general support for group meals, special events and other activities as needed. |

Cleaning - Clean dormitories and other housing (bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen, etc., including laundering sheets); clean laboratories, offices, classrooms and other general access areas on the
UGAMI campus. Includes mopping, vacuuming, dusting, washing windows, emptying trash, and replacing consumable supplies (e.g., light bulbs, fire alarm batteries). |

Oversee cleaning department - Supervise cleaning staff (coordinate cleaning schedules, track performance); maintain and order cleaning supplies (ugamart, p-card); ensure facilities are stocked with needed items (e.g. cookware), report necessary repairs and maintenance needs to facilities supervisor; work with Program Coordinator to ensure that staff has appropriate food handling certification; help coordinate movement and cleaning of vehicles for visitors; provide final check of spaces ahead of visitors. |
