The Senior Tax Analyst is responsible for preparing various income and indirect tax returns, assisting with and supporting the overall tax compliance function of the organization and special projects as assigned. This role will report to the Income Tax Manager

Essential Responsibilities

• Renews business licenses and takes out new business licenses at the request of operation leaders
• Files unclaimed property reports
• Files monthly Puerto Rico service tax withholding return
• Submits and pays sales & use, gross receipts, and provider tax returns via check or online
• Assists the Income Tax Manager with federal, state, local and international income tax compliance co-sourcing (extensions and returns) process for the Company, Operating Partnership, and our various subsidiaries with external service provider
• Assists in gathering data to support M-1s and other information for the preparation of the federal and state/local income tax returns prepared by co-sourced service provider.
• Seeks and recommends opportunities to modernize and streamline tax processes
• Assists in supporting the company's quarterly and annual FIN 48 analysis and review processes
• Assists in gathering information for tax accounting matters including verification of expense/balance sheet tax accounts and responding to internal and external audit inquiries; tax depreciation methodologies and review all tax depreciation calculations for inclusion in the tax provision and income tax returns; provide technical guidance on the applicability of transaction taxes to the products/services sold and purchased by Company entities
• Other responsibilities as assigned

Education and Experience

• Bachelors degree in accounting
• Minimum of three to five years of accounting experience heavily weighted toward tax compliance and reporting

• Knowledge of General Tax Accounting Principles
• Strong analytical and problem resolution skills
• Exercises independent judgment in carrying out the details of the work according to applicable regulations, company policies and procedures
