Job Summary

Are you a devoted leader emphasizing the importance of community interaction? Loudoun County's Department of Parks, Recreation, and Community Services is searching for qualified individuals for the role of full-time Assistant Manager. If you are enthusiastic about substantially impacting our community, we would be pleased to hear from you. In the role of Assistant Manager, you will be essential in ensuring a friendly and well-maintained setting for all who visit. You will be responsible for supervising daily operations and ensuring our facility's seamless functioning while overseeing various community programs, events, and activities. The successful candidate will demonstrate proactive leadership qualities and a strong dedication to recreation and community participation. It is vital to possess solid analytical skills to review reports and steer the direction of upcoming program initiatives.

We are currently hiring for the following location(s):
* Loudoun Valley Community Center, Purcellville, VA

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* Operational Excellence: Direct the management of facility operations, monitor maintenance necessities, and ensure full compliance with safety regulations.
* Team Leadership: Engage in the recruitment, training, and management of staff, encouraging career advancement and nurturing a supportive workplace culture.
* Program Development: Manage the design and rollout of innovative programs for diverse age groups, including sports, fitness, arts, and enrichment classes. Conduct community surveys to determine interests and boost participation.
* Customer Service: Provide outstanding support to employees, suppliers, and guests, while also serving as a representative of the center at community gatherings and conferences.
* Financial Stewardship: Assist in budgeting, monitor expenses and revenue, and ensure financial targets are met while coordinating supply purchases and repairs.
* Undertakes additional responsibilities as required, including assuming different roles during staff shortages and emergencies.


Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Recreation or Leisure Services, Social Work, Gerontology or related field depending on assigned area; two (2) years related work experience in program and facility management working with the public, working with the frail elderly or special populations, groups, and organizations including one (1) year of supervisory experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
* Certified Parks Recreation Professional (CPRP) certification.


Job Contingencies and Special Requirements

Must undergo background checks, including fingerprinting, criminal, credit, and Child Protective Services (CPS) checks. An annual submission of a sworn disclosure statement or affirmation is required, which must include any criminal convictions or pending criminal charges. TB tests must be passed within 30 days of hiring and annually thereafter. First Aid, CPR, AED, and MAT training within 90 days of hire. The selected candidate must complete County e-learning, supervisory training, and other training as required.
