Human Dimensions of Organizations (HDO) in the College of Liberal Arts at The University of Texas at Austin invites applications for a nontenured Assistant Professor of Instruction to teach in our undergraduate program. The preferred start date is the Fall semester of academic year 2025-26, but is negotiable. This is a full-time position teaching three courses per long semester, with potential opportunity for periodic summer teaching. The position is renewable annually, contingent upon programmatic need, performance, and funding.

HDO (hdo.utexas.edu) teaches students to apply lessons from the humanities and social/behavioral sciences to organizational and workplace contexts. HDO offers a BA, an MA, and professional training. HDO offers a unique opportunity to create innovative coursework and teach courses on the cutting-edge of liberal-arts pedagogy.

Our current teaching need is in qualitative and quantitative methods (see HDO's course descriptions here: https://hdo.utexas.edu/requirements-courses/). However, the successful candidate will also support other required courses in the major and on occasion will have the opportunity to teach a topics-centered course tied to their research specialty.

Qualifications

A PhD in a humanities or social/behavioral sciences field, the ability to teach research methods, and a record of teaching excellence are required. Experience teaching and/or conducting research on the applied nature of the humanities and/or the social/behavioral sciences is preferred.
