Senior Practice Assistant, Radiation Oncology

Under the direction of the Radiation Oncology Practice Director and the Clinical Director of Breast Radiation Oncology Group, the coordinator is an active member of the clinical care team and is responsible for triaging incoming referrals in a multi-disciplinary approach.
- Supporting the Breast Radiation Oncology program - Procuring medical records: Prior pathology, imaging, Graphic Plans/DICOMs, and relevant reports required for patient care review. - Coordinating all appointments as needed for each specialty. - Obtains authorizations for imaging requests and procedures (e.g., SBRT) as needed. - Effectively communicates with the Breast Radiation Oncology Program. - Provides appointment information/instruction to patients regarding hospital and department procedures. - Arrange interpreters or transport if necessary.Assists with patient questions and serves as a critical point person, ensuring patients' needs are met. - Assists in the referral process for those patients who seek treatment closer to home. - Provides departmental administrative cross-coverage when needed. - Perform other duties as assigned.
