The Office of Institutional Research and Planning (IRP) at Georgia Tech is a research and analytics service unit dedicated to supporting the campus community. Our team of data analytics professionals combines technical and creative skills to inform decision-making, planning, and investigations across various areas, including admissions, financial aid, enrollment management, staffing, student life, finance, facilities, and athletics.

We assist other units in obtaining and interpreting data to drive policy, planning, and business process improvements. The IRP research staff collects, analyzes, reports, and utilizes quantitative and qualitative data about students, faculty, staff, curriculum, course offerings, and learning outcomes. Our work requires whole-brain thinking and involves communication with nearly every department on campus, from admissions to student services to academic departments.

The Project Manager in an individual contributor role is responsible for planning, executing, and closing technology projects within defined timelines and budgets. This position focuses on managing project tasks, communicating with stakeholders, and ensuring that project deliverables meet quality standards.

Job Duty 1 -
Develop detailed project plans that outline tasks, timelines, and resources required to successfully complete technology initiatives.

Job Duty 2 -
Coordinate project activities by assigning tasks to team members, monitoring progress, and ensuring that deadlines are met.

Job Duty 3 -
Communicate with stakeholders to gather requirements, provide project updates, and address any concerns or changes in scope.

Job Duty 4 -
Track project budgets and expenditures to ensure that financial resources are utilized effectively and to identify any potential overruns.

Job Duty 5 -
Prepare documentation related to project specifications, changes, and deliverables to maintain a clear record of project progress and decisions.

Job Duty 6 -
Troubleshoot project-related issues by analyzing problems and implementing solutions to keep projects on track.

Job Duty 7 -
Conduct project meetings to facilitate collaboration and ensure that team members are aligned on objectives and responsibilities.

Job Duty 8 -
Evaluate project outcomes and gather feedback to assess the effectiveness of completed initiatives and inform future projects.

Job Duty 9 -
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in related discipline or equivalent, related experience; advanced certification may be preferred or required (some profiles may require additional education).

Required Experience
Six or more years of relevant experience.

Salary range is dependent on candidates experiences and skills that ranges from $75,751 - $80,000.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical professional with a strong foundation in project management, data collection, and analysis to join our team as a Data (IT) Project Manager. The ideal candidate will possess:

- Strong project management skills with the ability to lead and coordinate multiple data projects, ensuring timely and successful completion.
- Proficiency in SQL programming and familiarity with data visualization tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, capable of conveying complex data insights clearly and effectively.
- Critical thinking and attention to detail to ensure accuracy in data analysis and reporting.
- A solid understanding of the institutional research environment, applying data-informed insights to inform decision-making.
