The Atlanta Journal-Constitution aims to be the top source of news for Atlanta, Georgia, and the South by evolving into a modern media company. To support this goal, our Analytics + Research department is expanding its team and seeking a Senior Quantitative Research Analyst. This role will focus on using advanced analytics to drive strategy, including survey design, data management, and A/B testing. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify testing opportunities, define success metrics, and ensure statistical rigor.

Key responsibilities include managing market and brand trackers, conducting trend analysis, and providing strategic recommendations to optimize content, audience engagement, and business decisions. As a leader in experimentation and quantitative research, you'll shape our approach to test-and-learn methodologies, delivering actionable insights that impact product development, marketing, and customer experience. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, expertise in statistical methods, and the ability to communicate complex data effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, assist and lead all aspects of quantitative research projects, including development and review of the research brief, questionnaire or discussion guide, data analysis plan, and reporting to produce impactful analyses that drive company-wide strategy.
  • Analyze large datasets to identify patterns, trends, and actionable insights that inform strategic decision-making.
  • Lead A/B testing and other experimental research to evaluate the effectiveness of product changes, marketing strategies, or other business initiatives.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product, marketing, and strategy teams to understand business needs and tailor research efforts accordingly.
  • Develop and maintain market trackers and other ongoing data sources to monitor trends and provide consistent insights into key business drivers.
  • Present findings in a clear and concise manner, translating complex data into actionable recommendations for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Stay current on emerging trends and best practices in quantitative research and apply innovative methodologies to solve business challenges.
  • Work closely with the Analytics team to tie offline research data to our expansive and ever-growing audience database. This data will include consumer demographics, user behavior with our digital products, content analytics, as well as email and event marketing data


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and 4 years' experience in market research or related field. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a master's degree and 2 years' experience; a Ph.D. and up to 1 year of experience; or 8 years' experience in a related field
  • Advanced knowledge and expertise in quantitative research methodologies (including survey design, sampling techniques, statistical significance, etc.).
  • Experience using research software and tools, such as Alida, CheckMarket, or Qualtrics for fielding studies.
  • Experience conducting and analyzing A/B testing.
  • Experience working with large data sets and an understanding of basic statistical analyses (Knowledge of statistical modeling languages/tools such as Python, R, SPSS, or SAS a plus)
  • Experience with market trackers and trend analysis.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners.
  • Experience in market sizing analysis, user experience research, and product development.
  • Experience with data visualization and charting tools such as PowerBI, Tableau, or other related software.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment, while overseeing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.


USD 79,400.00 - 119,000.00 per year

Compensation:

Compensation includes a base salary of $79,400.00 - $119,000.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.

Benefits:

The Company offers eligible employees the flexibility to take as much vacation with pay as they deem consistent with their duties, the company's needs, and its obligations; seven paid holidays throughout the calendar year; and up to 160 hours of paid wellness annually for their own wellness or that of family members.
