This position is challenged to provide pharmaceutical care to each of its customers in drug information and drug therapy monitoring within the anticoagulation service. The active pharmacist/clinical pharmacist staff will report to this position. This position is responsible for the daily staff management of their direct reports, including hiring, onboarding, coaching and evaluation. This person is also responsible for ensuring adequate staffing (including scheduling), This position is challenged to assist in the training of pharmacists, residents, nurse practitioners, pharmacy interns, and students as well as the supervision of same, adherence to policy and procedure, and coordination of workload. The position functions as a resource to management with respect to quality initiatives participation, providing information to improve and enhance operational services as well as work on process improvement projects as assigned. The incumbent may be required to support the inpatient pharmacy, work varying shifts and days to meet the needs of the Department of Pharmacy which operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Overtime may be requested. The incumbent works with the Pharmacy manager to meet financial and clinical goals of the hospital. They are expected to participate in the annual budget process and ensure an efficient and effective operation. The incumbent is expected to attend on a regular basis staff meetings, pharmacist meetings, etc. The incumbent may perform other duties as assigned. This position does provide patient care.
