Why do we need you ?
Located in Malvern, the Supply Chain Planner will be responsible for delivering optimal customer service, working capital, and cost levels, for multiple product lines, across multiple manufacturing and distribution locations. The Supply Chain Planner will work closely with Customer Service, Transportation, Product Management, and schedulers in the manufacturing facilities to set master production schedules, manage the transfer of product between facilities, and maintain MRP settings in SAP to meet service and inventory requirements. Production and Distribution Planning
- Create and manage interplant transfers of product between multiple manufacturing facilities and distribution points.
- Work closely with plant schedulers to ensure that production schedules are aligned with short term requirements, and broader service and working capital objectives.
- Review and update MRP master data for products and facilities within scope of responsibility on a regular basis (safety stock, lot size, lead time), ensuring that master data is aligned with our service and working capital objectives.
- Assist Supply Chain Planning Manager with monthly, aggregate level Production, Shipment, & Inventory (PSI) plan process.
- Represent the Planning function for assigned products and facilities on regular cross-functional conference calls, providing updates on product availability and any other service related issues.
- Monitor daily business activity and adjust schedule for interplant transfers, and/or production as needed.
- Provide accurate root cause analysis of service failures and recommend actions to address and improve.
Project and Process Improvement Activities
- Support the new product development process though participation on NPD teams, work on product introductions, transitions, etc.
- Provide ad hoc data analysis and reporting to the business as needed.
- Participate in process improvement efforts focused on customer service, working capital, and cost.
Is this job for you ?
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, or related field
- One to Three (1-3) years of applied professional experience working in supply chain, production planning, or operations planning
- Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software, preferably SAP
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel and PowerPoint
- Ability to utilize available tools and systems to effectively balance inventory & customer service in support of business goals
- Strong analytical skills, enabling the conversion of large data sets into summaries from which conclusions can be drawn
- Ability to create processes and tools that are reliable and repeatable, aimed at supporting business goals
- Ability to work independently and with teams
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including ability to bring about consensus in areas of conflict
- Strong attention to detail, providing accurate and consistent work
- APICS Certification preferred (CPIM or CSCP)
- Experience with continuous improvement tools such as Lean, Six Sigma, or WCM (world class manufacturing)
