RISK/CLAIMS ANALYST
The Risk/Claims Analyst is responsible for the corporate insurance program and management of the claims process. Responsible for ensuring that the organization's risk exposure is minimized while handling the insurance claims in an efficient and compliant manner. Works closely with operations/project administration, safety, human resources, service center and finance teams during renewal.
Qualifications:
Required:
- 2 or more years of industry experience in insurance or risk management or similar experience.
Preferred:
- Previous experience with claims management
- Four-year degree in Business or related degree

- Detail oriented and ability to work with a high degree of accuracy

Office and Travel:
Primarily works in corporate office out of Roseville. May be minimal travel between office locations and to insurance/risk related conferences.
Note: 5% of travel time with additional opportunities for travel if interested. Eligible for hybrid position.
Responsibilities and Tasks:
Corporate Insurance Program (35% of time)
- Assist with compilation and development of data for annual renewal of corporate insurance programs including General Liabillity, Auto Liability, Workers' Compensation, Property, Master Builder's Risk, Executive Risk, Cyber, Drone and Subcontractor Default Insurance.
- Coordination of pre-renewal and proposal meetings between McGough and external partners.
- Assist with management of insurance strategy with brokers including negotiation of coverage terms and premiums.
- Review of policies prior to binding to ensure accuracy and assist in approval to bind.
- Management of bound policies - scanning and archival.
Certificate of Insurance Process (10% of time)
- Manage corporate certificate of insurance (COI) process.
- Request and issue COIs on behalf of the company and distribute as necessary.
- Provide education on the COI process to other departments as necessary.
Claims Management (35% of time)
- Oversee internal claim management efforts for all claims and defaults to include oversight of third-party administrators, insurers and defense attorneys.
- Reviewing claims for accuracy, completeness and compliance.
- Investigation on complex claims.
- Interacts with claimants, insurers and internal departments to gather information as necessary.
- Evaluates liability by accessing validity of claims and assists in determining appropriate pay out amounts.
- Manages documents by maintaining up to date records and preparing necessary documentation.
- Tracking and management of claims data.
- Coordination of claim reviews.
Risk Management (20% of time)
- Assist with analysis of data and trends to identify potential risks
- Contribute to the risk mitigation plans to reduce the likelihood of severity of identified risks
- Collaborate with safety to assist with enforcing safety procedures and guidelines to prevent accidents and losses
- Maintain knowledge of trends in construction insurance industry, including thorough working knowledge of project specific insurance products, coverage and pricing.
- Assist Risk Manager with presentations and sessions focused on corporate insurance policies and claims.
- Maintain knowledge of trends in construction insurance industry, including thorough working knowledge of insurance products, coverage and pricing.
Other Duties as assigned (5% of time)
- Participate as an active member of the Risk & Legal Teams. Contribute to shared goals and collaborate with colleagues on achievement of priorities.
- Collaborate with internal teams, contractors and other stakeholders to align risk management efforts. Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Other duties as assigned.

In alignment with our commitment to pay transparency, the base salary range for this position is $71,000 to $95,000, excluding fringe benefits or potential bonuses. If you join McGough, your final base salary will be determined by several factors, including geography, location, skills, education, and experience. Furthermore, we place significant value on pay equity among our current team members as part of any final job offer.
Please note that the range provided above reflects the hiring range for this role. Hiring near the top end of this range would be atypical, as we aim to allow room for future salary growth.
