GENERAL FUNCTION: Responsible for the supervision and direction of foremen, leadworkers and craft personnel within a specific area of a manufacturing plant and ensuring production schedules are met.

TYPICAL DUTIES: The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed and are not to be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities.

Select and supervise foremen. Advise foremen regarding supervision of employees. Ensures safe working conditions in production areas.
Reviews production drawings and schedules and determines proper manpower, equipment and procedures are utilized to meet schedules.

Monitors production daily to determine if additional material, equipment or manpower is required. Works as a liaison between foremen and various crafts to ensure an orderly workflow is achieved.
Coordinates with foremen and quality control manager to ensure product compliance with Company standards and specifications.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: Considerable knowledge of manufacturing operations as related to plant products and components and applicable regulatory requirements and practices. Ability to analyze and interpret blueprints and production drawings. Ability to plan cost effective work procedures compatible with quality requirements. Ability to effectively communicate, instruct, build and direct a production team.

EXPERIENCE & TRAINING: H.S. diploma or GED, supplemented by course work in production management, industrial technology or related area or equivalent experience in a production environment. Extensive experience in plant operations and supervision.
