SCOPE

Our summer internship program allows students to gain exposure and understanding in a variety of careers within the electronics distribution industry. Interns in this program will be assigned to one department focusing on one of the following areas within Mouser:

Information Systems: software development, hardware/service knowledge, cybersecurity.

Internet Business: e-commerce and web development with focus on SEO/SEM.

Fulfillment: gain exposure and understanding in the continuous improvement process of a distribution center.

Inventory Management: gain exposure in purchasing/expediting orders, handling/processing backorders.

Pricing: strategic planning of pricing models across various global markets.

Products: account management assistance with suppliers; evaluating sales numbers and researching new product lines.

Human Resources: human capital management and legal compliance.

Marketing Communications: marketing strategies and brand recognition.

Technical Marketing: optional path of technical writing over electronic components in various blogs, articles, newsletters, and eBooks or technical design/development project focusing on electronic components distributed through company.

Creative Marketing: focus on electronic marketing with emphasis on digital and graphic design.

Sales: business development through current and new accounts.

QUALIFICIATIONS

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

The ideal candidate for this program will be an undergraduate in good standing at either a junior or senior level with focus in one or more of the following programs - Management, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Distribution, Finance, Marketing, Journalism, Communication Technology, Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or other applicable degree programs.

SKILLS & CERTIFICATIONS

* Exhibits strong analytical and organizational skills.

* Strong problem solving and analytical skills.

* Demonstrates a positive attitude toward self and others.

* Interacts effectively with individuals and groups inside and outside the organization.

* Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication and telephone etiquette.

* Able to communicate with people at all levels.

* PC experience in a Microsoft Windows environment, proficient with internet e-mail, Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, and other software.

* Able to type data and use a PC for long periods of time.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS (for technical positions only)

Information Services
Working knowledge of Python, HTML, and JavaScript
Internet Business
Working knowledge of C#, .net Framework, JavaScript, CSS
Proficient in Visual Studio, Source Control (SVN, Git, TFS)
Desired, but not required knowledge of Typescript, Sass, .net core, unit testing, and MVC.
Basic understanding of database queries and stored procedures

The internship program will be a paid, 10 week program beginning June 3, 2019 through August 9, 2019. Our interns can expect to work 40 hours or more during the 10 week period.

Must provide own housing arrangements in the DFW area and able to commute daily to Mansfield, TX.
