Patient Care Tech (PCT) -Labor, Delivery & Recovery - Part-Time - Day

Compensation / Benefits

• $13.21-$21.58/hr. based on previous work experience.
• Evening differential $1.50/hr.
• Night differential $1.75/hr.
• Weekend differential $1.75/hr.

LDR is a 16-bed unit with a 6-bed OBED, 4 antenatal testing rooms and 2 c/section suites. The OBED is staffed by a nurse and an OB Hospitalist 24/7. LDR participates in AIM initiatives, PPH protocols with QBL, Severe HTN protocols, as well as multiple other process improvement initiatives. We have a charge nurse each shift to coordinate care. Daily safety huddles and bedside shift report are an important part of our unit culture. We closely follow AWHONN staffing guidelines for safe patient care.

• The primary role of this position is to facilitate processing of patients and provide clerical receptionist support for the unit.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) and assists in the maintenance of a safe and clean environment.

Education

• High School diploma or equivalent GED.
• Certification as a nursing assistant or 6 months of recent experience as a nursing assistant.

Experience

• Six (6) months of recent experience as a nursing assistant.
• Current certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant or one clinical semester of nursing school or successful completion of an acute care nurse aide course; or six (6) months previous experience in a healthcare position can be substituted for the experience.

(Above requirements can be met by the equivalent combination of education and experience).

Licensure / Certifications

• Basic Life Support *(BLS) training or re-training is required during orientation prior to providing patient care.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) is required to be maintained through re-training for duration of employment.
