The Role in Brief:

Event Host

The Event Host is the first impression of the firm; they are the guardians of the firm's hospitality and superior service ethic. The Host helps coordinate day of logistics and ensure everything runs smoothly for EAB's onsite partner events. They liaise between the event manager, partner relationship manager, facilities team, and on-site vendors for events; ensuring a flawless event experience. They are charged with giving gracious and knowledgeable assistance to partners and other event attendees who are visiting the Richmond office. This role is highly visible and integral to the success of our partner client events.

This role is based in EAB's Richmond office.

Primary Responsibilities:



  • The Host ensures visiting partners have a welcoming experience and assists with any questions or special requests as they arise.
  • Acts as liaison between the partner relationship manager, facilities, and the on-site vendors in providing successful partner experiences while displaying professionalism and hospitality.
  • Takes ownership and pride in creating stellar first impressions and creating moments of wow for event attendees. Ensure superior service is provided to both internal and external constituencies
  • Utilizes the catering order and meeting set-up form to check all meeting space and ensure the room is set per the event specifications. This includes setting up the meeting room with nametags, table tents, and meeting amenities.
  • Checks in multiple times throughout the day to assist with any questions; actively visible, and always accessible to event attendees.
  • Ensures all rooms have the appropriate door signage and digital signage is updated.
  • Serve as main point contact for event ground transportation; tracking arrivals and departures to ensure a seamless travel experience.
  • Prepare and kit welcome gifts for clients; Deliver to the hotel.
  • Supports Event Manager in preparing final travel itineraries for event attendees.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule to cover meeting start and end times
  • Maintains an enthusiastic, positive, professional demeanor and appearance
  • Perform additional duties as assigned


Basic Qualifications:



  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree
  • Excellent academic record
  • Working knowledge of common workplace tools such as Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Sales Force.
  • Demonstrated success delivering service both internally and externally
  • Comfortable standing and walking for extended periods during events.
  • Comfortable with physically transporting items and equipment from one location to another as well as bending, reaching, and climbing smaller ladders during setup.
  • Must be able to support meetings in both Richmond and DC office, with flexibility to travel as required by event locations
  • Some job activities may be required outside of typical workdays/hours.
  • Experience working in a team environment
  • Experience in an office setting

  • Experience thinking through problems creatively
  • Sharp eye for precision and detail and possess a strong work ethic

Compensation:

The anticipated starting salary for this role is $35,000 per year.
