General Summary of Position The Assistant Vice President of Digital Transformation provides leadership and support for MedStar's transition to a fully integrated, digital health organization. Serves as the champion for the successful and scaled adoption of the multi-year platform strategy as a critical driver of MedStar's enterprise access imperative. Responsible for partnering with clinical, operational, and technical stakeholders across the organization to leverage data and artificial intelligence to augment care delivery and improve patient access, throughput, and retention. Leads the design and development of a fully integrated, agnostic end-to-end customer experience, and identifies and validates new modalities for potential integration throughout the execution of MedStar's multi-year digital roadmap. Works closely with the VP, Enterprise Access & Digital Transformation to ensure new solutions are contracted, piloted, and scaled to deliver measurable improvements in efficiency and financial performance. Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Serves as a key product thought leader, identifies opportunities to maximize product performance, and partners analytics teams to ensure business objectives are achieved through ongoing measurement and optimization.Partners with clinical and operational teams to identify opportunities to leverage technology/AI to augment care delivery and reduce physician burnout.Promotes customer centricity and ensures focus on creating personalized customer experiences to achieve data acquisition, customer loyalty, and competitive advantage, including an ongoing focus on capturing the customer voice and bringing insights back to the organization.Oversees the end-to-end digital product development process, from initial product ideation, through business case development, detailed design, operationalization, and outcomes measurement.Develops department goals, objectives, policies, and procedures. Ensures compliance with business unit policies and procedures and governmental and accreditation regulations.Partners with cross-functional teams to drive data-driven strategic outcomes that have the greatest financial impact on the organization.Leverages performance data, market behavior, consumer insights, and statistical analysis to define and optimize MedStar's omni-channel digital strategy and roadmap.Works with the VP, Enterprise Access & Digital Transformation to set direction for product strategy, applying insight from inside and outside of the healthcare industry to inform new opportunities to be digital.Builds trusted relationships and collaborates across multi-functional teams to successfully drive platform implementation and adoption.Provides and demonstrates thought leadership through competency and credibility in representing Digital Transformation to key internal and external/industry audiences.Prepares strategic presentations for MedStar's senior stakeholder groups including the CDTO, CEO and Executive Group.Oversees the growth, delegation, and accountability of the Digital Product Management team, including hiring quality talent and facilitating career development of the team. Removes barriers and manages risks for the team, reporting to department leadership on programmatic and personnel issues, as well as recommended mitigation actions.Participates in meetings and on committees and represents the department and system in community outreach efforts. Minimum Qualifications Education
- Bachelor's degree Relevant field of study required or
- Other equivalent work experience required
Experience
- 8-10 years Relevant work experience required and
- 3-4 years Direct experience working within the healthcare industry required and
- 5-7 years Experience leading product strategy, including developing new products and/ or digital solutions preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to generate ideas and define and shape product roadmaps based on customer and market data.
- Proven experience conceptualizing, developing and implementing digital products and solutions.
- Strategic thinking and planning capabilities, proven leadership skills, and the ability to be flexible and work with ambiguity.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills that scale to all levels of the organization and proven ability to influence and collaborate with others.
