Position Description

The Manufacturing Engineer performs various professional level engineering duties in a variety of engineering and scientific disciplines. There is an emphasis on supporting the company's products and processes related to system/component design, development, manufacturing and testing.

Responsibilities

  • Applies engineering and scientific principles in such technical fields as mechanics, electronics, flight technology, structures, chemistry, metallurgy, mathematics, and computer science
  • Responsible for creating product work instructions and being the technical lead for production hardware
  • May conduct or participate in portions of studies, investigations or analyses involving reliability, predictability, value engineering; or quality assurance problems including hardware and software projects
  • Responsible for troubleshooting, dispositioning non-conforming hardware, and providing root cause and corrective action
  • Continuously strives to improve processes & techniques
  • Prepares reports, charts, graphs, and other related documents

Critical Competencies

  • Solid communication skills, both written and verbal, across functional areas
  • Possesses advanced problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Drives for results to establish Root Cause & Positive Corrective Actions
  • Experience with CAD software for 3D models and 2D drawings (SolidWorks preferred)
  • Quantitative analysis skills using Excel and other software tools
  • Drives for results, action oriented
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently

Required Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics Engineering or related field required
  • 2+ years' experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment preferred
  • Experience with various test and measurement equipment is preferred (e.g. voltmeter, oscilloscope, calipers, micrometers)
  • Mechatronics/Electro-Mechanical background is preferred
  • Manufacturing/assembly experience preferred
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the US, visa sponsorship not available
