Job Summary: Duties include but are not limited to in-line repair of units: Incoming inspection work, reading blueprints, BOMs, and specifications to ensure that operations meet production standards, repairing units prior to closing before shipment, make repairs and feedback recommendations for necessary adjustments and changes to process, removing product that does not meet production standards, and performing inspections at random to assure final product quality.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Restoring products which do not meet current quality standards
  • Reading blueprints and specifications to ensure that operations meet production standards
  • Recommending any necessary adjustments and changes to production processes
  • Inspect/test units produced, making and/or ensuring rework or repairs are made as necessary
  • Using gauges such as micrometer or calibers to measure product/parts to assure proper defect identification and repair
  • Identify products that don't meet standards and make repairs, or for complicated repairs, oversee restorative processes
  • Accepting or rejecting finished products and discussing repeating/systemic deficiencies with the production team
  • Performing inspections at random to assess and restore product quality
  • Overtime will be expected from time to time to accommodate customer shipments.

Job Requirements

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time.
  • Ability to climb onto units for pictures and inspection
  • Ability to use various gauges for inspection and restorative work
  • Obey all safety rules.
  • Computer experience is helpful with Microsoft Office products, willing to learn software programs

Special Skills Requirements

  • Self-motivator, able to work independently or in a team environment.
  • 5 years' experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Natural ability to use tools with skill.
  • Creative problem-solver able to devise/improvise repair processes which meet the needs of a demanding customer with a critical eye

Education Requirements

  • HS diploma, Associates Degree in a relevant field preferred
  • Occupational Safety and Health and ISO 9001 Awareness
  • Familiar with Lock out / Tag out
  • Familiar with Electrical / Arc Flash - Will need to take a 1-day arc flash course.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Frequently required to stand, walk, climb, lift and/or move up to 25 lbs.
  • Daily walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing for sustained periods of time, walking, pushing, pulling, and lifting.
  • Required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; expansive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts and/or operation of machines; using measurement devices; and/or assembly of fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes.
  • The worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
