Why do we need you ?

The Corporate Sustainability Intern will support CertainTeed Roofing's operational sustainability initiatives. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to sustainability efforts while gaining hands-on experience in sustainability management in a large manufacturing company. The intern will assist in advancing key 2025 sustainability team goals such as improving program structure, documentation, data analysis, communications, and tools for sustainability initiatives. The intern will engage directly with CertainTeed Roofing's sustainability team, participate in professional development, and collaborate with fellow interns. This position is an excellent opportunity for students to apply their academic knowledge in a practical setting while contributing to CertainTeed Roofing's sustainability goals.

Responsibilities



  • Assist in the implementation of central sustainability projects and initiatives (energy/CO2 roadmap, water reduction, and waste opportunities).
  • Support data collection, tracking, and reporting on sustainability metrics and performance.
  • Create templates and tools to enhance data collection and analysis at the US manufacturing sites.
  • Assist in the preparation of sustainability dashboards, reports, presentations, and communications.
  • Enhance internal processes of information and best practice sharing
  • Engage with stakeholders to promote employee's sustainability awareness and education.
  • Conduct research and analysis on sustainability trends, industry benchmarking and best practices, and regulatory requirements.
  • Other tasks and projects as required by the manager.

Is this job for you ?

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate in a business or economics major.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong data management and analytical skills.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Strong general computer skills required, including experience with Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience with developing a dashboard with PowerBI or Tableau preferred.
