Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Operate crane to lift and move materials and other objects.
  • Plan all lifts and take charge of all safety pertaining to set up and knockdown, operation of crane and proper use of capacity charts.
  • Perform rigging inspection and daily equipment inspection.
  • Respond accordingly to both hand and verbal commands from rigger or helpers.
  • Observe the travel of all loads and take appropriate action to avoid injury to personnel or damage to property.
  • Read boom angle and drum rotation indicators.
  • Estimate sizes, distances, and quantities; or determining time, costs, resources, or materials needed to perform a work activity.

Qualifications

  • Experience as a Crane Operator Journeyman in an ever-changing Construction site in close proximity to others.
  • NCCCO LBC and TLL Certifications
  • Must possess strong working knowledge skills and abilities for position.
  • Knowledgeable in OSHA standards
  • Communication and interpersonal skills are a must
  • Ability to work with tools and equipment such as, power and non-power tools as well as measurement tools
  • Observe and comply with all safety and project rules, perform other duties as required

Working Conditions

  • Frequently sit, stand, walk, crouch, kneel, climb and periodically lift up to 50lbs
  • Ability to work outside in all weather conditions
  • Work irregular hours, weekends, overtime and holidays as required
  • May be required to use ladders and/or manlifts to access required equipment/work areas, so must be able to climb and maintain balance on formwork, steel formwork, stairs, and ladders
  • Move and work in and around confined and cluttered places, and uneven surfaces
  • Exposed to high noise levels.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol testing
