Full Range: $62,000 - $102,500 Annually

Salary offers are based on the candidate's equivalent experience and internal equity with other employees within the same job classification. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation.

The Maricopa County Environmental Services Department is seeking a motivated, innovative, and solutions-driven Management Analyst to join our team! You'll contribute and participate in our exciting Department-wide strategies for establishing and improving our data systems. This aids in securing data by making it readily available to guide organizational structure and customer service initiatives. The Management Analyst will interact with line staff, Supervisors, Program Managers, Division Managers, the Department Director, and data systems consultants. You'll be helping to ensure that current and future data systems meet the Department's and customer's needs.

We Require

  • Two years of professional experience in administrative or public program administration

  • Bachelor's degree in business, public administration or a closely related field

  • A combination of post-secondary education and/orjob-related experience may substitute for theminimum qualifications on a year-for-year basis

We Also Value:

  • Experience with County Health Codes, scientific principles and practices, and regulations on public health and sanitation

  • Computer/software skills with experience in database management, Excel pivot tables, business computer applications, and building data collection/screening tools

  • Coursework, trainings and certifications in Environmental Health or Engineering related fields

  • Knowledge of public water, wastewater, solid waste, and swimming pool infrastructure

Job Contributions

  • Represent the Division on work groups tasked with implementing and improving the Permit Center database. Work directly with Division and Program Managers to develop home pages and dashboards that allow deliverables to be processed and progress monitored

  • Conduct research as directed by the Division Manager for the purpose of analyzing and evaluating programs, policies, organizational structures, systems and procedures, equipment, staffing, and alternate methods of providing service

  • Document and report on progress by Division, program, office, supervisor, and/or employee in meeting program goals and/or mandated deliverables

  • Identify and coordinate activities that will assist Division and Program Managers in meeting goals outlined in programmatic, strategic, and individual staff performance plans

  • Assist the Division and Program Managers in formulating, drafting, implementing, and cataloging standard operating procedures and Administrative Policies

  • Work with Division Manager and Department Finance Manager to prepare budget documents

  • Represent the Division on a variety of work groups and committees. Interact with other County offices, federal, state, regional, and local groups to implement established work group or committee goals and/or action items

  • Identify and coordinate activities that will assist Division and Program Managers in meeting goals outlined in programmatic, strategic, and individual staff performance plans

Working Conditions

  • The position is typically office or administrative work and is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions

  • Must be able to lift up to 20-25 lbs. occasionally, 10-25 lbs. frequently, or up to 10 lbs. constantly

  • This position is eligible for remote work after a brief training period and based on business need

  • Machines, Tools, Equipment, Software, and Hardware: Laptop and/or desktop computer, mobile printer, county cell phone, inspection equipment, database management software, Adobe Pro, MS suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
