Procurement Department

The Procurement team is responsible for securing the equipment Vantage's data centers require to function. The team leads these efforts from conception through commissioning, working with Sales, Operations, New Site Development, and Engineering along the way. Procurement also works closely with vendor partners to come up with a vertically integrated design, and we manage these partners to deliver the projects on schedule and budget.

Vantage is unique in that our technical staff is given the responsibility and authority to directly drive the process. Our internal team can align long-term operational sustainability with value engineering and cost metrics to deliver products aligned with corporate goals. This approach empowers each member of the team to drive high- impact decisions and even more impactful results.

Position Overview

This role can be based in: Denver, CO, Ashburn, VA, Phoenix, AZ, Reno, NV, Dallas, TX, San Antonio, TX, Columbus, OH, or Atlanta, GA and is in alignment with our flexible work policy. (3 days on site required, 2 days flexible). #LI-Hybrid

Vantage is seeking a strategic Procurement Manager to oversee the procurement of power substation equipment. This role ensures efficient and cost-effective acquisition of high-quality equipment for our power infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will develop procurement strategies, manage supplier relationships, and ensure compliance with industry standards.

Essential Job Functions:

Strategic Procurement & Sourcing:

* Develop and implement procurement strategies for power substation equipment.

* Manage the supply base to align with Vantage's long-term goals.

* Optimize inventory management and financial forecasting.

* Oversee the entire procurement process from contract to commissioning.

* Implement new processes and tools to support business growth.

Vendor & Supplier Management:

* Establish and maintain relationships with key suppliers.

* Lead contract negotiations to secure favorable terms.

* Develop and manage a Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) program.

* Identify and mitigate supply chain risks.

Operational & Financial Efficiency:

* Ensure cost-effective purchasing and timely delivery of goods.

* Track procurement metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs).

* Provide lessons learned for continuous improvement.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

* Work closely with the Energy , New Site Development, & Construction team to develop strategic sourcing strategy and deliver projects.

* Support change management and product optimization.

* Promote a collaborative environment to achieve common goals.

Risk Management & Compliance:

* Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.

* Oversee supplier qualification and requalification processes.

* Conduct risk assessments and provide recommendations.

Additional Duties:

  • Handle additional duties as assigned by Management.

Job Requirements

* Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Construction Management, or similar field is required; Masters in a related field or MBA preferred.

* 6 - 8 years' experience in procurement, focusing on power substation equipment or related categories.

* Ability to comfortably present technical data to executive level leadership is required

* Strong leadership and strategic thinking.

* Excellent negotiation and financial acumen.

* Effective communication and problem-solving abilities.

* Experience with inventory and vendor management.

* Ability to support internal teams and manage process/ERP tools.

* Knowledge of market dynamics and procurement processes.

* Travel is expected to be up to 25% but may increase over time as the business evolves.

Additional Details

  • Salary Range: $120,000 - $140,000 Base + Bonus (this range is based on Colorado market data and may vary in other locations)

  • This position is eligible for company benefits including but not limited to medical, dental, and vision coverage, life and AD&D, short and long-term disability coverage, paid time off, employee assistance, participation in a 401k program that includes company match, and many other additional voluntary benefits.

  • Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including your qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience and may fall outside of the range shown.
