Our mission is to enrich and nourish the lives of others to create a community that's Good for You, Good for All. _______________________________________________ POSITION SUMMARY Lighthouse Credit Union is expanding its strategic focus to support sustainable growth and enhance member value within consumer lending-encompassing auto loans, personal loans, lines of credit, and other unsecured lending products. The Director, Consumer Lending Portfolio Strategy will orchestrate near- and long-term strategic initiatives, synthesizing market research, member insights, and organizational priorities to guide decisions that drive both immediate impact and future success. Reporting to the SVP of Strategy, this leader partners with Finance, Product, Marketing, IT, Operations, and Risk to craft data-driven plans, manage OKRs, and facilitate QBR sessions. By converting analytical findings into concrete action plans and fostering effective collaboration, the Director ensures Lighthouse's consumer lending portfolio aligns with evolving market conditions, fosters member loyalty, and supports the credit union's broader strategic objectives. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES * Strategic Roadmap & Vision: Develops and implements a comprehensive strategy for consumer lending- including auto loans, personal loans, and lines of credit-to meet growth, profitability, and member experience objectives. * Profitability & P&L Insight: Analyzes financial statements, interest rate trends, and portfolio performance to articulate P&L impact from performance drivers. Coordinates with Finance to track KPIs (loan growth, yield, delinquency) and ensures accountability for financial outcomes. * Market & Competitive Analysis: Conducts in-depth research on market conditions, emerging trends, competitor offerings, and member preferences specific to consumer lending. Identifies opportunities for product differentiation, pricing strategies, and portfolio optimization. * Business Case & Thought Leadership: Develops robust business cases for new consumer lending products, product enhancements, or partnerships. Presents recommendations to senior leadership, offering perspectives that challenge internal assumptions. * Cross-Functional Project Management: Drives end-to-end execution for consumer lending initiatives-from building consensus among cross-functional stakeholders to monitoring project milestones. Collaborates with Finance, Operations, and IT to ensure seamless implementation. * OKRs & QBR Facilitation: Establishes and manages Objectives & Key Results (OKRs) for the consumer lending portfolio. Leads QBRs to maintain transparency, align resources, and tracks progress against critical targets. * Regulatory & Risk Alignment: Partners closely with Risk, Legal, and Compliance to ensure consumer lending strategies adhere to fair lending practices, underwriting guidelines, and all regulatory requirements. Incorporates credit risk assessments into strategic decisions. * Stakeholder Engagement & Communication: Builds trusted relationships with executives, peers, and frontline leaders. Synthesizes complex analyses into concise communications that highlight strategic insights, recommendations, and resource needs. * Team Cultivation & Leadership: Cultivates and manages a high-performing team, fostering collaboration, analytical rigor, and growth. Promotes a culture of continuous learning and professional development. * Performance Tracking & Accountability: Monitors the execution of consumer lending initiatives and key performance indicators, surfacing any potential risks or resource gaps. Implements corrective actions to keep projects on track and maximize impact. JOB SPECIFICATIONS * Strategic Visionary: Demonstrates the ability to chart a clear path forward for consumer lending, balancing immediate opportunities with long-term growth. * Analytical & Financial Acumen: Skilled in interpreting financials, understanding credit risk, evaluating consumer product economics, and creating financial models to inform recommendations. * Complex Problem-Solving: Able to structure and scope multifaceted challenges-including underwriting criteria, regulatory requirements, and market shifts-applying a range of analytical tools to develop solutions. * Influential Communicator: Comfortable presenting to executive leadership, synthesizing complex consumer lending data and strategic concepts into persuasive, concise recommendations. * Collaborative Leader: Excels in cross-functional settings, building consensus and driving execution across diverse teams and stakeholder groups (e.g., Risk, Legal, Operations). * Entrepreneurial & Adaptable: Thrives in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating intellectual curiosity and flexibility to pivot strategies based on evolving conditions. * Results-Oriented: Sets ambitious objectives for loan growth, portfolio quality, and profitability; holds teams accountable and ensures transparency through regular updates. * Team Builder & Mentor: Invests in talent development, providing guidance and growth opportunities while fostering a supportive, high-performing culture. EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE * Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred. * 7+ years of progressive experience in corporate strategy, management consulting, or financial services, ideally with exposure to consumer lending. * Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic plans, including business cases, market analyses, and financial forecasts. * Proven track record of effectively leading cross-functional projects, from ideation to implementation, in a consumer lending context. * Strong command of analytical tools and methodologies, with advanced MS Excel and PowerPoint skills; data visualization platforms a plus. * Excellent communication and influencing skills, with experience interacting at executive and Board levels. * Knowledge of regulatory and compliance considerations specific to consumer lending (e.g., fair lending practices, underwriting standards, etc.) is preferred. * Experience leading or mentoring teams, with a demonstrated ability to build, develop, and inspire talent. WORK ARRANGEMENT: The working arrangement for this position is hybrid. Hybrid work is an opportunity to find the right balance between working in the office and remotely, especially if it supports individual success and the needs of our organization.
