Company Profile: Newport News Nuclear BWXT Los Alamos (N3B) manages the 10-year, $2.1 billion Los Alamos Legacy Cleanup Contract for the U.S. Department of Energy, Office of Environmental Management, Los Alamos Field Office. N3B brings operational discipline, proven approaches and predictable results to the Los Alamos Legacy Cleanup Contract. Position Location: This position is located in Los Alamos, New Mexico. Los Alamos is a tight-knit mountain community that consistently ranks as one of Livability.com's Best Small Towns in America. The city is a top spot for outdoor enthusiasts as it has more than 120 hiking and biking trails, and residents enjoy easy access to the Pajarito Mountain Ski Area. Thanks to the University of New Mexico-Los Alamos' presence in the area, Los Alamos also has a college-town vibe that's a major draw for young professionals, families and retirees. Position Summary The Shipping and Receiving Coordinator verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment by performing the following duties to quality and productivity standards. This position reports to the N3B Facility Support Manager. Essential Duties/Responsibilities (may include, but are not limited to): This position is responsible for a combination of manual and clerical shipping and/or receiving duties which may require the use of hand trucks, forklifts, and other devices, as well as computers to maintain data. Receives incoming materials or prepares materials for shipment. Verifies quantity, weight, and conformance of materials; prepares records of materials shipped and bills of lading; routes materials to destinations. May lay out, fabricate, and assemble nonstandard shipping crates and boxes, and prepare parts and tooling for special shipment. Additionally this position is responsible for:
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities):
Education and Experience Required: Level 1: High School Diploma or equivalent combined with 0 years relative experience. However, a combination of education and relevant experience wherein the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the position's duties and responsibilities have been adequately demonstrated is acceptable. Level 2: High School Diploma or equivalent combined with 2 years relative experience. However, a combination of education and relevant experience wherein the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the position's duties and responsibilities have been adequately demonstrated is acceptable. Business Associations: Level 1: Contacts are primarily within immediate work until. Contacts involve obtaining or providing information requiring little explanation or interpretation. Level 2: Contacts are typically within individuals within own department and occasionally with contacts outside own organization. Contacts involve obtaining or providing information or data requiring some explanation or interpretation. Impact: Level 1: Errors can be easily and quickly detected within the immediate work unit and would result only in minor disruption and expense to correct. Level 2: Errors may be detected and corrected but may cause moderate loss of time or customer/user dissatisfaction. Working Conditions and Physical Requirements: Normally assigned to perform work in an office and warehouse environment. Electrical, lifting, tripping, etc., hazards found in this environment. Job performance requires adequate visual acuity and manual dexterity for meeting the requirements of the discipline. Ability to lift 50 pounds.
