General Summary: The Digital Print Operator, under the direction of Digital Print Supervisor, is responsible for producing finished digital prints by operating, monitoring, assembling, and adjusting digital print operation jobs as instructed through job ticket specifications.

Essential Duties:

  • Pull instructions from job ticket for digital print jobs.
  • Retrieve paper and other components needed to meet job specifications.
  • Load paper and other substrates into machine as needed to complete job.
  • Retrieve files from company server for printing.
  • Remove printed materials from machine when complete.
  • Troubleshoot issues with the printer or auxiliary equipment.
  • Complete required quality documentation if needed.
  • Track all work performed in the production tracking system.
  • Perform light maintenance on machines such as refilling toner and fuser oil.



Marginal Duties:

  • Assist with or run roll fed, wide format, or color printers as needed.
  • Other duties as needed for general support of the digital print area.
  • Keep machines clean.
  • Move product in and out of machine
  • Return supplies to stock
  • Clean equipment
  • Comply with safety procedures, rules and regulations


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to operate various types of digital print equipment as needed for training or to meet production demands.


  • Perform minor maintenance of digital print machines and ancillary equipment.


  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively and respond to questions from managers, customers or employees of organization.


  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
  • Overall familiarity with digital print equipment and workflow.
  • Have strong working knowledge of computers, including Windows and Microsoft Software.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and to use hands to finger, handle, or touch; frequently required to walk; occasionally required to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must be able to talk and to listen. The position requires repetitive lifting and bending. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds; occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision and close vision.

Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed airborne particles (dust or toner) and is required to work near moving mechanical parts.

The noise level in the work environment is moderate.
