GENERAL SUMMARY

Participates and follows established Bank policies and department procedures. Under direct supervision, responsible for spreading financials, assisting officers in underwriting and analyzing various new loan originations, refinancing and extensions, annual reviews and any amendments or waivers as needed Commences with his/her developmental process by assisting senior account officers and collaborating with underwriting team members through preparing financial spreads, credit analysis, recommendations, and potential risks to both the credit and collateral securing the transactions. Participates in all due diligence and background evaluations so credit approval can be considered.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS



  • The primary function is to perform financial spreads for both new and existing clients. Review loan covenant compliance while performing financial spreads. Prepare memos or waivers to address any covenants violations as needed.
  • Underwrites and analyzes the financials of various new loan originations, refinancing, extensions, annual reviews and any amendments or waivers as needed.
  • Ensures compliance with Bank, regulatory and credit requirements with emphasis on quality customer service while adhering to given deadlines.
  • At the direction of the Team Manager and/or the Account Officer while collaborating with underwriting teams, contacts borrowers directly, as appropriate, for additional information and details related to loan request or clarification of financial materials and resources.
  • Reviews and evaluates collateral periodically to minimize credit exposure.
  • Reviews risk grading on an ongoing basis to identify potential credit issues.
  • Escalates potential credit issues to Account Officer and Team Manager.


QUALIFICATIONS



  • Education: College graduate, with major in accounting or business preferred. Must be proficient in college level accounting fundamentals, processes, and terminology.
  • Experience: 1-3 years corporate commercial lending and general banking experience (or equivalent experience in the field of financial/credit analysis) with general knowledge of lending practices and regulations, loan funding/closing procedures, and credit/underwriting practices.
  • Skills/Ability: PC proficient. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Bilingual (English/Mandarin or Cantonese) a plus. Independent, organized and detail oriented. Good general credit knowledge of loan underwriting policies and approval process. Ability to handle loan funding/closing and resolve issues. Under general supervision, able to work effectively in a fast paced, high production environment. Good financial analysis skills, accounting skills and experience in retail banking/commercial deposits.



OTHER DETAILS

$26.44 - $40.87 / hour
Pay determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
This position may be eligible for a discretionary bonus.
