How You'll Contribute to the Team:

The Insurance Claims Manager provides claim administration support for corporate and project specific insurance programs including workers' compensation, general liability, auto, property and environmental/pollution. This role collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to support the insurance policy renewal process, as well as to manage insurance related incidents which include gathering, submitting and reporting claim information. Work performed requires adhering to insurance and property management industry established guidelines, as well as the updating of internal processes and procedures related to claims management. This role requires analytical thinking, attention to detail, organizational and high-level communication skills to ensure accurate and timely submission of claims in order to expedite claim approval and payment by insurance carriers.

Primary Responsibilities Include:



  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of Corvias' partnership and management agreement contracts to understand the insurance requirements for each project.
  • Manage the insurance claims documentation and submittal process associated with all types of coverage including workers' compensation, general liability, auto, property, and environmental/pollution claims.
  • Facilitate timely reporting of all insurance incidents and claims entered into the RMIS system and to the appropriate insurance carrier when required. Verify completion of all phases of the claim submittal process including information gathering and detailed documentation. Follow incidents/claims to conclusion.
  • Review and confirm details of incident reports received and provide support to employees and business leads through continued communication and follow-up to questions and documentation.
  • Monitor and communicate claim progress while working with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Follow processes and track progress through all phases of the claim process in the RMIS system. Proactively track time horizons and claim deadlines.
  • Project manage large complex claims, facilitating cross-functional collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, including claims handlers, loss adjusters, insurers, third party adjusters, and attorneys in order to expedite claim approval and settlement.
  • Maintain and organize insurance claim records, including financial expenses and claim settlements received.
  • Assist with the insurance policy renewal process including gathering information to complete coverage applications and other documentation requested by the insurance broker. Ensure that all renewal policy information (including policy documents) are saved on the Risk Management SharePoint site.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including EHS, Property Management, Asset Management, Accounting, Finance, Corvias' insurance broker, vendors/consultants, legal counsel, and insurance carriers.
  • Support insurance policy premium payment process including invoice submittal and tracking, project allocations, and budgeting.
  • Act as a representative of the Insurance Risk Management team in organizational meetings as needed.
  • Champion the Corvias culture, mission, vision, and values, and maintain the highest standards of business professionalism.
  • Evaluate and modify administrative processes and operational procedures as needed. Create forms, tools and guidelines to capture the required documentation and streamline the exchange of information.
  • Recognize claim trends and alert internal EHS team regarding those trends.
  • Maintain current knowledge of insurance industry regulations including compliance and standards related to claims processing.
  • Travel as needed to Corvias locations for support on large claims as well as other insurance related incidents.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Role Specific Requirements Include:



  • 5+ years' insurance industry multi-line experience with a demonstrated history of increased responsibilities managing administrative contracts and insurance claims handling preferably for a property management or insurance company.
  • Working knowledge of the management and administration of corporate insurance programs across multiple entities and subsidiaries; ability to read, analyze, and interpret insurance policies as well as insurance language within vendor and partnership contracts.
  • Demonstrated ability to professionally interact and relate to individuals with diverse backgrounds, including the ability to effectively handle elevated customer concerns and potentially stressful situations in a calm and professional manner.
  • Demonstrated proficiency to simultaneously handle a large and diverse number of projects and issues with tact, cooperation, and persistence.
  • Proven success expediting claim approval and settlement for large complex claims, with multiple internal and external stakeholders, through effective claim management.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with all levels of the organization as well as with residents, vendors, brokers, insurance carriers, and outside counsel.
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and build relationships at all levels inside and outside the organization.
  • Proven ability to exercise mature judgment to maintain confidentiality and take proactive steps to keep confidential information secure.
  • Must be independent, self-motivated and possess a positive attitude, operating well in a team environment that is focused on collaboration, accountability, and tight deadlines.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office suite required. Working knowledge of property management software preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance long term assignments against daily responsibilities and adapt to changing priorities including an unplanned increase in workload or unexpected interruptions.
  • Ability to travel up to 30%.

The salary range for this position is estimated to be $95,000 to $110,000 per year, depending on experience, skills, qualifications, and work location. This position is eligible for a discretionary target incentive of up to 10% of the base salary.
