  • Location: Denver-based preferred, based on hiring team's needs.

Network Materials Planner Intern

The Network Materials Planner Intern will play a key role in ensuring the timely and efficient planning, procurement, and management of materials necessary to meet operational demands. You will be responsible for forecasting material needs, coordinating with suppliers, optimizing inventory levels, and ensuring that materials are available when required to avoid operational disruptions. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including supply chain, engineering, procurement, and operations, to drive efficiency and cost-effectiveness while maintaining high service levels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement materials planning strategies to maintain optimal inventory levels and timely replenishment.

  • Analyze demand forecasts, production schedules, and usage trends to determine accurate material requirements.

  • Collaborate closely with procurement and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials, and proactively address supply chain disruptions.

  • Monitor and manage inventory levels, lead times, and stock movements to prevent shortages and minimize excess inventory.

  • Utilize ERP/MRP systems (e.g., Oracle, Salesforce) to generate material requirements and manage purchase orders.

  • Partner with engineering and operations teams to align material availability with production schedules.

  • Identify and implement process improvements in materials planning and inventory management to boost efficiency.

  • Track supplier performance, manage order confirmations, and escalate issues when necessary.

  • Develop and maintain reports and dashboards to track material availability, planning accuracy, and inventory health.

What We're Looking For:

Required Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in supply chain management, logistics, business, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

  • 3-5 years of experience in materials planning, supply chain management, or inventory control.

  • Strong understanding of demand planning, procurement, and inventory management principles.

  • Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., Oracle) and Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.

  • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills to optimize material flow and reduce inefficiencies.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with suppliers and internal teams.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, adapt to shifting demands, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Willingness to address urgent material needs and travel as necessary.

Estimated Base Pay Range: $20.00-$22.00 USD/hour
