Job Summary:

V2X is seeking a Software Infrastructure Configuration Manager to support managing software assets associated with a large-scale program focused on sustainment of DoD military training devices and systems. This role will manage software assets utilized/embedded in deployed training devices/systems, and the tools/environments utilized in support of DoD military training systems. This role will apply fundamental configuration management principles in conjunction with software asset/management processes and tools to support approval, deployment, updates/patches, and removal of training system software and firmware.


Job Description:



  • Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of configuration management processes and procedures, with emphasis on training system device software, firmware, COTS, FOSS and network devices.
  • Maintain and update configuration documentation and records, primarily focused on Software Inventory and Lifecycle Management: maintain an accurate inventory of all training software and network assets.
  • Maintain software license compliance and adherence to vendor agreements.
  • Develop efficient procedures/processes to support enforcement of software usage policies and standards to mitigate compliance risks.
  • Monitor and control changes to product configurations, ensuring compliance with established procedures applicable to the lifecycle of software/firmware/network device assets from acquisition to disposal, ensuring proper documentation and tracking.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and timely configuration updates.
  • Ensure metadata applied in configuration management tool and system tailorable configurations support program needs for reporting on infrastructure asset status and compliance.
  • Provide data-driven insights and recommendations that lead to execution optimization.
  • Assist in the identification and resolution of configuration-related issues.
  • Participate in configuration audits and reviews to ensure adherence to standards.
  • Maintain and develop, as necessary, skills associated with program configuration management tools and systems.



Required Skills



  • 4 to 7 years of relevant experience in a configuration management role, primarily focused on software or software infrastructure configuration management.
  • Strong understanding of Software Infrastructure and Configuration Management best practices and policies.
  • Experience with software compliance and inventory management.
  • Experience defining and applying attributes/meta data associated with software infrastructure configuration items.
  • Competent in the utilization of at least one advanced PDM tool supporting configuration management.


  • Proficiency in reporting and analytics to provide actionable insights.



Desired Skills



  • Experience working with government customers including the US Army, US Navy, USMC and/or USAF.
  • Experience using Aras Innovator.
  • Advanced SharePoint skills.
  • Ability to apply Configuration Management concepts and processes based on common functional best practices, models and guidance (EIA-649, MIL-HDBK-61, ISO, ITIL and CMMI).
  • Ability to work collaboratively across engineering disciplines, production and product sustainment teams, as well as external suppliers.
  • Creativity in problem solving, crisp attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, with emphasis on Power Automate.



Configuration Management certification, such as NDIA and/or CMII.
