The Training Specialist will play a crucial part in enhancing our workforce by preparing training materials and creating digital content for our learning management system, POKA. This individual will validate Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and deliver comprehensive training to new employees. Also, ensure that our training systems align with internal and external policies, protocols, and regulations, including Safety, Quality, NQMS, HR, OSHA, ISO, NGA, NMA, and Education and Training Pillar Methodology.

Responsibilities:

  • Create digital content for our learning management system, POKA, and assist in recording, editing videos, and digitizing the experience for our workers.

  • Administer Hands-on Demonstration assessments to verify knowledge transfer and validate that employees can perform their jobs to standard.

  • Conduct training audits of department employees to identify training gaps, provide on-the-job training to correct deficiencies, and retest.

  • Record trainee progress and audit results using Competency Matrices (Skills Matrix) and Training Matrices.

  • Create and teach necessary steps for effective and efficient changeover, startup, and shutdown activities.

  • Train employees directly or indirectly (using SMEs) to operate, clean, service, and troubleshoot equipment.

  • Prepare training materials (SOPs, One Point Lessons, Hands-on Demonstration Checklists) using Microsoft Office programs.

  • Validate training materials (SOPs, One Point Lessons, Hands-on Demonstration Checklists) using subject matter experts, consulting with process engineers, other resources, vendors, and peers, and performing duties, tasks, and steps per instructions.

  • Ensure regulatory compliance and adherence to the quality standards outlined in the HACCP plan, QMS, and other quality SOPs.

  • Communicate regularly with trainees, leadership team members, and the Training Supervisor/Manager.

  • Collaborate with peers and the team to make recommendations on how to improve operations to optimize production with positive contributions to all key plant indicators: safety, quality, cost, and service.

  • Conduct Root Cause Analysis using basic problem-solving tools.

  • Become proficient in the operational procedures of equipment to be trained.

  • Perform Lock Out Tag Out as required.

  • Work safely and report any unsafe situations.

Requirement:

  • Associate's Degree and Train the Trainer Certification preferred

Skills:

  • Proficient in using computers, including navigating systems, recording information, and creating SOPs, One Point Lessons, spreadsheets, and email communications; experience with Microsoft Office is preferred.

  • Ability and willingness to deliver training and presentations to groups of up to 15 members.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proactive individual who takes responsibility for equipment, line, coworkers, and the continuous improvement of operations.

  • Able to work in a team environment where honest communication, a positive attitude, engagement, and personal accountability are expected.

  • Detail-oriented individual who can accurately record and document information.

  • Possesses positive conflict management skills.

  • Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.

  • Accountable for personal development and improvement.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.

  • May require internal and external certification (Train the Trainer, etc.).

  • Ability and willingness to operate and support a positive Nestle culture and follow established values.
