About the role

The Director, Content Marketing will develop and execute Auctane's content strategy, focusing on driving customer acquisition, retention, and lifetime value expansion. This leader will build and manage a small team, overseeing content creation that spans mailing, SMB shipping, and API solutions. Key responsibilities include maintaining a consistent publishing schedule, developing educational materials, collaborating with influencers, and ensuring all content aligns with SEO best practices. Additionally, this role will manage the organic social media strategy and utilize data insights to inform content decisions.

This position is hybrid (3 days per week in office) and is located in Austin, Texas.

About the team

We are a newly formed customer-focused and results-driven product marketing team. Our mission is to help small and medium online retailers master order management and fulfillment. We are looking for a dynamic, experienced Product Marketing Manager to join our team.

What will you be doing?



  • Strategic Planning: Develop a content strategy that supports marketing and business objectives, ensuring alignment with product marketing and overall brand messaging.
  • Team Development: Recruit, mentor, and manage a team of content creators, providing guidance and fostering professional growth.
  • Content Production: Oversee the creation of various content types, including blog posts, whitepapers, webinars, and social media posts, ensuring consistency and quality.
  • Cross-functional collaboration: Work closely with SEO specialists to ensure content is optimized for search, partner with the creative, product marketing, web and demand gen teams to achieve growth.
  • Influencer and Paid Content Partner Engagement: Identify and collaborate with industry influencers to enhance brand authority and reach.
  • Performance Analysis: Monitor content performance metrics, using data to drive decisions and optimize strategies for better engagement and conversion.
  • Content Calendar Oversight: Manage a comprehensive content calendar, ensuring timely production and publication aligned with marketing campaigns.
  • Trend Analysis: Stay abreast of industry trends and audience preferences, leveraging insights to inform content creation and strategy adjustments.
  • Social Media Strategy: Develop and implement an organic social media strategy to distribute content effectively and engage with our audience.
  • Budget Management: Own the content budget and maximize spend to achieve growth.


What are we looking for?



  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field; MBA preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in product marketing, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful content strategies that drive engagement and achieve business objectives.
  • Strong understanding of SEO principles and experience collaborating with SEO teams to optimize content.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Experience managing content calendars and overseeing content production across multiple channels.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience building and mentoring high-performing teams.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across departments.
  • Experience in B2B marketing, particularly in the e-commerce or technology sectors, is a plus.
