Idaho National Laboratory is hiring a Hazards Analyst to work in our Environment, Safety, Health and Quality (ESH&Q) department. Our team works onsite with a 9x80 schedule located out of our Idaho Falls facility with every other Friday off. You will use advanced engineering and scientific concepts and techniques in the development of Emergency Management (EM) hazard assessment processes. This includes development of EM All-Hazards Surveys and EPHAs, emergency action levels, and predetermined protective actions. Provide advanced technical expertise/advice in assisting management and department personnel in formulating strategies to safely mitigate INL facility and sitewide emergency incidents. You will report to the Emergency Management Manager. Responsibilities Include:
- Assure the INL EM Program is maintained in compliance with federal regulations, DOE orders, and company procedures.
- Coordinate emergency preparedness, planning, and response elements with other organizational functions including environmental protection, safety and health, site services, fire department, medical, nuclear operations, and environmental management.
- Advise managers on highly technical emergency planning, preparedness, and response issues.
- Assure consistent implementation of EM programs.
- Conduct and report on self-assessment of EM Program elements.
- Provide feedback for continuous improvement using established company lessons learned and issue management programs.
- Work corrective actions to full closure.
- Serve as a member of the INL Emergency Response Organization (ERO) and participate in training, drills, and exercises, and respond to actual emergency incidents.
- Comply with Laboratory policies, standards, and procedures (e.g., ESH&Q and safeguards and security performance and compliance).
- Complete assigned work on time, on budget, and in accordance with expectations and authorities.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Level 3: Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Security or related field and 5 years of relevant experience or Masters degree and 2 years relevant experience or in lieu of degree 11 years of relevant experience.
- Level 4: Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Security or related field and 9 years of relevant experience or Masters degree and 6 years relevant experience or in lieu of degree 15 years of relevant experience.
- Experience with Security Systems (Homeland, cyber, military, law enforcement).
- This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy "Q" clearance, which requires US Citizenship.
Job Information:
- The pay range for this position is: Level 3 ($77,628 - $159,228) / Level 4 ($93,204 - $191,076). At Idaho National Laboratory compensation decisions are determined using factors such as education, relevant experience, and other credentials.
- TDP: This is a testing designated position; you will be required to submit to a pre-employment drug screen and periodic drug testing throughout the term of your employment.
- Multi-Level: This is a multi-level posting and you will be placed at the appropriate level dependent on depth and breadth of proven experience and skills.
